Comfort and Placement
The Book is a small reading prop disguised as a navigator's manual. It is one of the cheapest decorations in the game, built from a tiny amount of Wood, which makes it an easy early way to start banking comfort while you gather rarer materials for larger pieces.
Like every buildable decoration, this piece only takes effect when it is placed inside the radius of a Bonfire. Anything set down beyond that range is still visible but contributes nothing to the homestead, so cluster your decorations around the fire to get the bonus.
It feeds the homestead Comfort System, granting Comfort +1 from the Books category. The bonus does not stack: placing several books of the same category still yields a single +1, so spreading points across different decoration categories raises overall comfort far more than hoarding duplicates.
