Rapiers are one-handed Pierce weapons that scale with Precision, making them the default melee for Precision-focused builds. They pair naturally with an off-hand Pistol for a Precision dual-threat loadout.
Four rapiers ship in the current live index: one Uncommon baseline, a bleed-focused named variant, a Plague-mark combo rapier, and the Sturdy top-end duelist.
Every hit from this class lands as Pierce damage. Windrose sorts weapon damage into three types, Slash, Pierce, and Crude, and enemy defenses respond to each one differently. The same Pierce profile that tears through one foe can glance off another, so check what you are fighting before you lean an entire Precision build around a single damage type.

Ascending a Rare variant to Epic adds one more effect on top of the Rare effect. The exact bonus varies per weapon:

Every Rare/Epic weapon in this category shares the same scaling mechanics. Ascending a Rare variant at the Weaponsmith Workshop preserves the Rare effect and stacks the Epic bonus on top. The Sturdy prefix weapons in every class jump to Strength, Agility, or Precision (S) at Epic, which is the single largest scaling jump in the game.

Base recipe is Copper Ingot x7 plus Rough Hide x2 at the Weaponsmith Workshop Level 1. Level 6-10 upgrades swap to Foothills Iron Ingot. Level 11-15 upgrades swap to Mire Metal Ingot and Crocodile Hide Piece. One-handed rapiers ascend with Tumbaga Ingot x7.

Precision primary, Agility or Vitality secondary. The Rapier of a Thousand Cuts bleed build stacks bleeding DoT for burst, while the Sturdy Rapier duelist build leans into Perfect Block and Critical Damage. Off-hand pistol (Drake's or Reliable) completes the Precision duo.
Rapiers are the melee of choice for a Precision character. As one-handers they leave the off-hand open for a Pistol, so the natural loadout is a rapier plus the Reliable Pistol or Drake's Double-Barreled Pistol for a Precision dual threat.
Two builds stand out. The Rapier of a Thousand Cuts stacks Bleeding for damage over time, rewarding fast repeated hits to keep stacks alive. The Sturdy Rapier instead plays as a duelist, leaning on Perfect Block and Critical Damage. Either way, keep Vitality and Endurance stocked so you can stay in the fight long enough for the effects to pay off.
