Divi-Divi Tree

Note hardwood drop rate increase from divi-divi harvesting
The Divi-Divi Tree is the signature hardwood species of Windrose's Foothills biome. Felling one yields Hardwood and Tree Bark, the two staple upgrades over common Wood for mid-game crafting.
Biome Foothills islands (not Coastal Jungle).
Grouping grows in small copses rather than isolated trees, so one chop trip usually nets several logs.
Hazards wolves or other aggressive animals often den near Divi-Divi copses. Scout the area before committing to chopping, because multiple community guides warn that the first hit on a tree often aggros nearby predators.
Felling a Divi-Divi requires an axe. The tool progression:
Stone Axe the earliest option. Slow but functional.
Copper Axe recipe 5 Copper Ingot + 5 Wood at the Workbench. Substantial efficiency gain over stone.
Iron Axe recipe 5 Foothills Iron Ingot + 5 Wood. The endgame standard, upgradeable further at the Sawhorse.
Hardwood the primary drop. Feeds many upgrades in the cooking chain (Cookware Shelf, Supplies Rack), alchemy chain (Reagent Table), armor upgrade chain (Shoemaker's Bench), ranged weapon crafting, and ship material refining.
Tree Bark secondary drop. Used in certain Foothills-tier recipes and leather processing.
Chain reactions work here, if two Divi-Divi trees are on a slope, felling one can knock into the adjacent tree.
Bring a Pistol or Blunderbuss to deal with wolves before they close on you.
Coordinate Divi-Divi harvesting with a Foothills trip that also hits Flax Fiber, sulfur, and Foothills Iron Ore one sweep, four resources.
Hotfix 0.10.0.4.268 on April 30, 2026 raised the Hardwood drop rate from Divi-Divi Tree harvesting in the Foothills by twenty percent. A standard chopping run that previously returned roughly five Hardwood per tree at common stat thresholds now returns about six. Tree Bark drop rates are unchanged.
The change applies to every harvesting tool tier; the percentage bump is on the base drop pool rather than the axe progression. Players running a Foothills resource sweep should expect a measurably faster Hardwood pipeline post-patch.
Divi-Divi Tree is most useful as part of a route that also covers nearby enemies, resources, or points of interest. Check the drops table before farming it directly, then follow the linked creature-family, biome, and material pages to decide whether the same route covers other needed materials.
