Azure Dodo

Azure Dodo is a dodo creature in Windrose. Spawns in groups of 1-2.

Dodos are flightless birds found on Coastal Jungle beaches. They drop Bird Meat and occasional Feather items used in arrow crafting.

The Azure Dodo is the aggressive rare variant of the common Dodo. It carries far more health than the docile base bird (960 against the base Dodo's much smaller pool) and will close distance and swing rather than fleeing. Because every kill yields a Feather at a guaranteed rate, it is the most reliable early farm for fletching material along Coastal Jungle beaches.

Tactical Notes

• Unlike the passive base Dodo, Azure Dodos hold ground and attack. Their Melee L1 / L2 combo deals 190 Slash per hit, which is a real threat to a starter-armor player.

• Parry or dodge the L1 / L2 combo, then counter with any basic melee weapon. A single Pistol shot at opener range also works.

• The 100%-chance Feather drop makes Azure Dodos the primary farming target for Feathers (used in arrows and decorative recipes). Base Dodos do not drop Feathers.

Notes

• Azure Dodos appear in groups of 1 to 2 throughout the Coastal Jungle, with no time-of-day restriction. Rarer than base Dodos but still regular spawns on standard exploration routes.

Drop Uses

The 5 percent Dodo Head roll is the limiting factor for the Trophy Dodo, so trophy hunters should expect to clear roughly twenty birds per head. Feather and Bird Meat both drop on every kill, so a single farming circuit usually overflows your meat and feather stacks long before the head appears.
