Overview
City Affairs is a set of activities in Silver Palace that sits apart from casework and from the daily objective list. It has its own stamina resource, its own currency and its own progression level, so playing it does not compete with the Vitality spent on repeatable combat content.
The system was documented during the second closed beta. Like the rest of that build's city layer, its structure is more reliable than its numbers, which are the first thing a live release retunes.

Free Time
City Affairs runs on Free Time rather than on the stamina that gates the rest of the game. Free Time regenerates on its own and can be topped up with a consumable called a Time Itinerary. Keeping the two pools separate is a deliberate design choice: the leisure activities are meant to be somewhere to spend an evening rather than another daily obligation competing for the same budget.
Case Affairs
The activity strand proper. Each one involves specific members of the cast, which gives the roster something to do outside combat in the same way the property system does:
Activity | What it is |
|---|---|
Coffeehouse | Preparing coffee correctly for the customers of the Voicepipe Cafe, played by the Detective. The cafe is already established as one of Morgue Street's information exchanges, so working the counter puts the Detective where the city's gossip is. |
Royal Equestrian Tournament | Competitive horseback racing across Silvernia, played by the Detective. This is the formal version of the street racing the publisher described as arriving with the second test, covered on Traversal and Mounts. |
Scarlet Gambit | A one-on-one card game against Red Rose, in which a base deck is joined by special cards carrying their own effects. |
A gameplay showcase released in July 2026 previewed open-world activities including driving, chess and board games alongside the casework, and Case Affairs is where that side of the game is organised.
Intel Zone
The Intel Zone is gated behind property ownership. Buying specific properties in Silvernia turns them into a passive source of Ancient Coins, the currency City Affairs pays out in, which is then spent at the information exchange. It is the point where the property system stops being a self-contained economy and starts feeding another one.
Popularity
Taking part in City Affairs earns experience toward a Popularity level, capped at 10 in the build it was documented in. Levels pay out in a mix of Reactor Crystals, Ounces, Reputation and further Free Time items, weighted heavily toward the round numbers: level 5 paid 200 Reactor Crystals, and level 10 paid 360 along with 50,000 Ounces, while the levels between them paid materials and smaller sums. That is what keeps the track worth running rather than purely decorative.
Popularity is a separate measure from Reputation. Reputation tracks how established the Detective is as an investigator and gates the difficulty of the world; Popularity tracks a social standing built out of coffee, cards and horse races. The two are earned from different activities and spent on different things.
Info Exchange
Ancient Coins are spent at the Info Exchange, which had three distinct shelves in the build it was documented in: a long list of advancement materials, a gift shelf where every item carried the same flat price of 500 Ancient Coins, and a short list of invitations at 5,000 each. One entry sat far above the rest, a Motive called The Cinderella Mystery at 100,000 Ancient Coins and locked until Popularity level 2. Priced that way, the whole track reads as a slow route to one specific piece of equipment rather than a general-purpose shop. Those prices are test-build figures.
Relations Network
A third strand, the Relations Network, appears in the interface but was not available to play in the build it was documented in. Nothing has been published about what it does.
