Overview
Reputation is the main account-wide progression track in Silver Palace. It stands in for the experience bar found in most action role-playing games, and it measures how established the Detective has become in Silvernia rather than how strong any single character is.
Earning Reputation
Reputation comes from ordinary play across the city rather than from one dedicated activity. The main sources are:
Daily objectives drawn from City Roaming.
Completing Commissions, the game's quest categories.
Clearing Deep Cognito combat challenges.
Solving open-world puzzles and opening chests found while exploring.
Accumulating enough Reputation raises the Reputation Level. In the Dichotomy Beta build the level is capped at 50.
Crisis Level
Reputation Levels are not rewards on their own. Passing certain thresholds unlocks an Advancement Test, a quest that raises the account's Crisis Level by one when cleared. Higher Crisis Levels make the world's content harder and improve the rewards it pays out, so the pair works like a world-level system: Reputation controls when you may raise the difficulty, and the Advancement Test is the gate you have to pass to actually do it.
Because the Advancement Test is a quest rather than an automatic unlock, players can sit at a comfortable Crisis Level and keep banking Reputation without being pushed into harder content.
The tests are named rather than numbered generically. The first documented one, Mental Breakthrough: I, unlocks at Reputation Level 20. Clearing it is also a listed objective on the city's own progression record, so the Advancement Test sits at the junction of three tracks rather than standing alone.
City Records
Running alongside the level itself is a staged objective record that pays out in phases. Its tasks are drawn from every part of the game rather than from one activity: unlocking a mental marker in a specific quarter, clearing repeatable daily activities, completing a named story scene, raising a character's Insight to a set level, and passing the Advancement Test. Each task pays Reputation and materials, and completing a phase pays a larger block of Reputation, Reactor Crystals and Ounces. It functions as the game's account-level checklist, pointing new players at the systems they have not touched yet.
In the second closed beta build the first phase listed five tasks.
Task | Reward |
|---|---|
Unlock the Riverside mental marker | 100 Reputation, 300 Reactor Crystals and materials |
Complete a repeatable daily activity once | 1,000 Reputation and materials |
Complete the second Major Case act | 1,000 Reputation and study volumes |
Raise one character's Insight to level 20 | 1,000 Reputation and materials |
Pass the Advancement Test Mental Breakthrough: I | 1,000 Reputation, 200 Reactor Crystals and a Motive |
Completing the phase paid a further 4,000 Reputation, 1,000 Reactor Crystals and 20,000 Ounces. Later phases move on to opening chests, later story acts, raising Insight to level 40, amplifying a Motive and making property investments, so the record keeps steering the player toward whichever system they have not touched. Those figures come from that test build.
Milestone Rewards
The second closed beta layered a milestone track on top of the level itself, paying pull currency at Reputation Levels 5, 15, 25, 35 and 45. Rewards of that shape are test-cycle events rather than permanent features, so they should not be read as a confirmed part of the released game.
