Overview

Developer Island is a special showcase area in Pokemon Pokopia built by the development teams at Game Freak and Omega Force. The island features elaborate structures and creative builds designed by the game's developers, serving as both a source of inspiration and a practical resource for players looking to improve their own building skills.

Unlike the five main areas in the game, Developer Island is a self-contained location that exists outside the normal map. Players can visit it freely once they obtain the required item. The island showcases advanced uses of building, decorating, and infrastructure systems that may not be immediately obvious during regular gameplay.

How to Access Developer Island

To visit Developer Island, you need to purchase the Mysterious Goggles from the PC terminal inside any rebuilt Pokemon Center. The Mysterious Goggles become available in the PC shop after you have rebuilt at least one Pokemon Center.

1. Rebuild a Pokemon Center in any area if you have not already.

2. Interact with the PC terminal inside the Pokemon Center.

3. Purchase the Mysterious Goggles from the shop menu.

4. Equip the Mysterious Goggles from your inventory.

5. Activate the goggles to be transported to Developer Island.

You can return to your current area at any time by removing the goggles or using the standard fast travel system.

What to Find on Developer Island

Developer Island contains a variety of showcase builds created by members of the Game Freak and Omega Force development teams. These builds demonstrate advanced techniques and creative approaches to Pokopia's building and crafting systems.

The island's builds include complex multi-story structures, creative furniture arrangements, themed neighborhoods, detailed landscaping, and sophisticated electricity and power setups. Each build showcases different aspects of the game's construction tools, from basic block placement to advanced infrastructure design.

Exploring Developer Island is a worthwhile activity at any stage of the game. Early on, the builds provide a preview of what becomes possible as you unlock more Ditto transformations and crafting recipes. Later, the island's more complex designs can inspire new approaches to your own construction projects.

Camera Copy Mode

One of the most useful features available on Developer Island is camera copy mode. While visiting the island, you can use the camera function to photograph specific items, decorations, and structural elements. The copy feature lets you save these designs and replicate them in your own areas.

To use camera copy mode, open the camera (similar to photo mode) while on Developer Island. Frame the item or structure you want to copy and select the copy option. The copied design is saved and can be placed in any of your areas, provided you have the required resources and materials.

Camera copy mode is exclusive to Developer Island. You cannot use it in regular areas or on Cloud Islands. However, once you have copied an item, it remains available for placement anywhere.

• Visit Developer Island early in your playthrough to get inspiration before you settle on a design for each area.

• Pay attention to how developers use electricity infrastructure. Their layouts can teach you efficient power distribution patterns.
