Neverness to Everness is a 3D action role-playing game played from a third-person perspective. Built on Unreal Engine 5 with NVIDIA DLSS and Ray Tracing technology, the game features seamless open-world exploration, dynamic combat, extensive vehicle mechanics, and deep life simulation systems.
Exploration
Players can run, jump, sprint, climb walls, wall-run, swim, and glide through the world of Hethereau without loading screens. The city features extensive vertical exploration opportunities, with characters like Nanally able to use Anti-Gravity powers to soar over buildings.
Entering buildings, climbing walls, and driving vehicles all occur seamlessly, creating an immersive urban exploration experience. The train network and public transportation provide quick travel options across the city.
Combat
The combat system centers on real-time combos and Esper abilities. Players build four-character teams and chain normal attacks, skills, and ultimates while swapping characters mid-combo.
The Esper Cycle mechanic uses six attributes (Light, Zero, Curse, Dark, Soul, Image) to trigger powerful synergy reactions. Building Cycle Rate through combat unlocks devastating attacks.
Vehicles
Unlike similar games, NTE puts heavy emphasis on vehicle gameplay. Players can drive through neon-soaked streets using third-person or optional first-person modes.
Vehicles feature customizable parts affecting handling, color, and decals, plus realistic damage systems requiring repairs. Players can buy, modify, and race vehicles throughout Hethereau.
Life Simulation
Players can purchase and design homes ranging from apartments to mansions. A business-management layer allows running shops and managing vehicles and properties as revenue sources.
Activities include fishing, taking taxi rides, racing, playing Mahjong, and working part-time jobs like coffee shop shifts. The city also features an extensive public transportation network including trains.
Anomaly Dungeons
Large-scale Anomaly Dungeons like The Bank and The Hospital are designed for cooperative multiplayer. These locations require players to work together to navigate complex environments and face powerful challenges tied to the game's supernatural elements.
Prison System
A unique prison mechanic introduces consequences for player actions. Players who are arrested in the city experience a full in-game prison day, including solitary confinement, outdoor time, and escape attempts.
Gacha System
The Scarborough Fair gacha uses a dice-rolling board mechanic instead of traditional pulls. Notably, there is no 50/50 system - limited banner S-class characters are always guaranteed to be the featured character when pulled.
