Zero is the protagonist character in Neverness to Everness. She (or he, as players can choose gender) serves as the player's avatar and the first 'unlicensed' Anomaly Hunter in Hethereau.
Name
The name 'Zero' is a literal translation from the Chinese version of the game and may change in future releases. The name potentially signifies her role as a customizable player character, representing a blank slate for players to project themselves onto.
Players can choose between male and female versions of Zero (Esper Zero Male/Female).
Role in the Story
Zero takes on the role of 'Appraiser' - an unlicensed Anomaly Hunter who joins the Eibon antique shop. The story follows Zero as they investigate supernatural anomalies throughout Hethereau, gradually uncovering a layered web of cause and effect behind the supernatural occurrences.
Zero works alongside the diverse and extraordinary partners at Eibon to explore various urban mysteries while fulfilling Anomaly commissions for the public.
Combat Style
Zero is a balanced fighter who takes center stage in gameplay trailers. With versatile, standard attacks, she serves as the foundation for team compositions, designed to be accessible for all players.

In beta footage, Zero has been spotted fighting alongside Mint, Nanally, and Sakiri, making her a core part of the main team. Her balanced abilities complement the more specialized skills of her teammates.
