Overview
Neverness to Everness features confirmed online multiplayer that allows players to team up for combat challenges, participate in social activities together, and share their in-game accomplishments. The multiplayer system spans both structured cooperative content like dungeons and freeform social interactions within the open world of Hethereau. The game is described as an ambitious online RPG that takes place in a vast, seamless open world rendered with Unreal Engine 5.
The developers have emphasized that multiplayer is designed to feel natural and integrated rather than bolted on. Social activities exist alongside combat content, giving groups of friends multiple ways to spend time together beyond just fighting enemies.
Cooperative Anomaly Dungeons
The flagship multiplayer combat content consists of large-scale cooperative dungeons called Anomaly Dungeons. These are instanced challenges designed for groups of players working together to navigate environments and complete encounters tied to the game's supernatural elements. Two Anomaly Dungeons have been confirmed:
The Bank
The Bank is a cooperative Anomaly Dungeon set in a financial institution within Hethereau. The dungeon takes place during an Anomaly event that has warped the bank's interior into a supernatural gauntlet. Players must navigate through the corrupted bank, dealing with anomalous enemies and environmental hazards while progressing toward a final boss encounter.
The Bank's setting connects it thematically to the corporate culture of New Herland District, where financial institutions are a prominent part of the cityscape. The dungeon's design incorporates the bank's architecture, vaults, lobbies, and security systems, all transformed by Anomaly influence.
The Hospital
The Hospital is the second cooperative Anomaly Dungeon, set in a medical facility overtaken by supernatural forces. Like The Bank, it requires coordinated teamwork as players fight through corrupted wards, operating rooms, and patient areas. The hospital setting provides a different atmospheric tone, with clinical sterility warped by Anomaly energy.
Both dungeons are designed to test team composition and mastery of the Esper Cycle reaction system. Effective cooperation requires teams that can cover multiple attribute pairs to trigger reactions consistently against dungeon enemies and bosses.
Pink Paws Heist
Introduced in the Co-Ex Test, the Pink Paws Heist is a team-based large-scale dungeon activity where players infiltrate a location, plunder resources, and extract safely while navigating patrolling anomalies. A distinctive feature of the Pink Paws Heist is that all characters used are equalized with fixed stats regardless of player progression, meaning players can use level-one unbuilt characters without disadvantage. This makes it one of the most accessible multiplayer activities for newer players.
Dungeon Mechanics
Anomaly Dungeons feature mechanics designed specifically for group play:
Coordinated reactions Multiple players can contribute different Esper Cycle attributes to trigger reactions, expanding the range of Duo and Trio Reactions available beyond what a single player's three-character team can achieve.
Role specialization Players can focus on specific combat roles (damage, support, crowd control) based on their character selections.
Boss encounters Dungeon bosses are tuned for group damage output and require coordinated mechanics to defeat.
Social Activities
Beyond combat-focused co-op, Neverness to Everness includes a variety of social and daily-life activities. Official press materials describe these as designed "to deepen the sense of daily life within the city." Each activity provides its own rewards:
Fishing
Fishing is a leisure activity available at water locations throughout Hethereau. Players can fish alongside friends, comparing catches and competing for rare fish. Unheard Shores with its coastal setting is a particularly popular fishing destination. The developers noted during the Co-Ex Test wrap-up that they are working on smoothing out the fishing experience based on player feedback.
Mahjong
Mahjong is playable as a multiplayer minigame with online matchmaking. Players can sit down at a mahjong table within the game world and play matches against other human players. According to Co-Ex Test reviews, the mahjong system supports online matchmaking only (no AI opponents were available during the test). The developers have also noted they are refining the mahjong experience based on feedback.
Racing
Racing allows players to compete in vehicle races through Hethereau's streets using the game's vehicle system. Vehicle customization and performance upgrades carry over into racing, meaning tuning affects competitive outcomes.
Taxi Driving
Taxi driving lets players earn in-game money by operating as a taxi driver, picking up NPC fares and delivering them to their destinations across Hethereau. This activity provides both a revenue stream and a way to explore the city with purpose.
Coffee Shop Work
Coffee shop shifts allow players to work part-time at a coffee shop, completing service-oriented tasks for rewards. This is one of several part-time job activities that contribute to the game's emphasis on urban daily life simulation.

Rhythm games are available as a minigame activity, adding a music-based challenge to the social activity roster. These may be connected to the music and performance themes found at the Orichalcos Imaginist concert venue in Unheard Shores.
Home and Vehicle Showcasing
Multiplayer extends to showing off personal accomplishments and customization:
Home showcasing Players with customized homes can invite friends to visit their living spaces. Properties like the Peak (Fenglin Villa) were made purchasable during the Containment Test and feature quick teleportation and Anomaly Furniture systems.
Vehicle showcasing Customized vehicles can be displayed to friends. Visual and performance customization options become a form of self-expression.
Driving together Players can take friends for drives through Hethereau, cruising the streets together as a social activity.
Cross-Platform Play
The multiplayer system supports cross-platform play, as demonstrated during the Co-Ex Test in February 2026, which ran simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. Cross-platform support means that players on different devices can team up for dungeons, participate in social activities, and interact in the shared open world regardless of their hardware. Cross-platform play is expected at launch.
Social Infrastructure
The game includes standard social features to support multiplayer: friend lists, party formation, and activity invitations.
