LumenTale: Memories of Trey launched on May 26, 2026, and players reported several technical issues in the launch build. This page collects the issues that were widely reported at launch. The developer and publisher are expected to address them in post-launch updates, so confirm the current state in your own game before assuming an issue is still present.
Reported Launch Issues
Issue | Description |
|---|---|
Save File Handling | Progress could record to the auto-save slot without committing to a chosen manual save file. Players were advised to rely on the auto-save and to confirm a save loaded correctly before closing the game. |
Falling Through the Map | Players sometimes fell through floors or world geometry in certain areas, which required reloading a save. |
Menu Lock During Stat Assignment | Adjusting an Animon's stats in the menu could leave the player stuck in that menu. A post-launch update addressed a Stat menu softlock that occurred while using Quick Anispace. |
Online Error Codes | Errors sometimes prevented interacting with the online system, including trading and other connected features. |
Object Pop-In | World objects such as bushes could appear and disappear as the camera moved. |
Switch Performance | The Nintendo Switch version showed longer loading times and occasional framerate dips, most noticeable in busier scenes. |
Platform Notes
Performance issues were reported most often on Nintendo Switch, where loading at startup, saving, battle transitions, and area changes took longer and the framerate could dip in busier scenes. Players who wanted the smoothest experience at launch generally preferred the PC build. The Switch version is fully playable, and these are the kind of issues that post-launch patches commonly address. See System Requirements for hardware details and Release Date and Platforms for platform support.
Post-Launch Updates
The developer released a first post-launch hotfix the day after launch to resolve a progression-blocking problem some players hit in an early area, along with several smaller bugs. Because updates can change behavior, confirm the current state in your own game. The first hotfix was released the day after launch, on May 27, 2026. A separate update for the Nintendo Switch version followed on June 2, 2026, addressing a soft lock in the early Area 01 section along with other Switch-specific issues.
The first hotfix addressed the following:
A case where the player could be unable to interact with the Lumen in the early Area 01 section.
An infinite loading screen that could occur when re-entering Area 01 after running into the issue above.
Map interactables that could not be selected when they were covered by the quest area indicator.
Regional variants of Animon that incorrectly appeared in the map's Local Animon list in areas where they could not be obtained.
A move named Piercing Gust that did not work as described.
A softlock in the Stat menu that could occur while using Quick Anispace.
Hotfix 2 (June 4, 2026)
A second post-launch hotfix for the PC version arrived on June 4, 2026. It fixed a save-slot overwrite problem, several progression blockers, and a number of quirk, trading, and interface bugs. The full fix list is below.
Fix | Detail |
|---|---|
Save Slots | Fixed cases where save slots could be overwritten. |
Demo Achievements | Fixed Steam achievements earned in the demo that would not unlock in the full game. |
Temple Underground | Fixed a block that stopped progress through the Temple Underground during the City of Tradition quest. |
Trading Card Screen | Fixed a softlock on the trading card view screen. |
Anispace Release | Fixed being unable to move after releasing an Animon while in the Anispace. |
Suvius Peak Lava | Fixed a softlock when falling into lava at Suvius Peak. |
Wicedom Access | Fixed a missing Data Puzzle Piece that blocked reaching Wicedom. |
Hoarder Quirk | Fixed the Hoarder quirk permanently taking items from the player. |
Stunner Quirk | Fixed the Stunner quirk triggering when an Animon used Treatment on itself. |
Trade Verification | Fixed an incorrect hidden type shown on the trade verification screen. |
Steam Deck Prompts | Fixed missing tutorial button prompts on the Steam Deck. |
SPD Translation | Fixed an incorrect Simplified Chinese and Spanish translation of SPD (Special Defense). |
As of this hotfix the team noted that several issues remain under investigation: some quests may still not progress correctly for certain players; removing all known skills from an Animon that has an upgraded skill can clear those upgrades when skills reset; the Jump Scare quirk can trigger multiple times on the Flaming Bullets attack; saves made on the demo build may still overwrite full-game saves; a player can get stuck in Area 7 by jumping off a platform without the Holoken (fast traveling to any city resolves it); and a Switch Pro Controller connected over Bluetooth can misbehave when Steam Input is disabled, which a wired connection or enabling Steam Input avoids. The developer also reported the game reached number 6 on the global Nintendo Switch sales charts at launch and confirmed that further updates are planned through 2027.
Hotfix 3 (July 2, 2026)
A third post-launch hotfix arrived on July 2, 2026. It cleared another progression block in the Glacial Peak area, corrected several problems tied to the Mystical Relic item and the in-game Aniwiki, and fixed an evolution issue. The fixes are listed below.
Fix | Detail |
|---|---|
Wicedom Puzzle Piece | Fixed a missing puzzle piece that prevented reaching Wicedom in the Glacial Peak area. |
Aniwiki Scan | Fixed the Aniwiki not updating after scanning Blumester. |
Mystical Relic Items | Fixed sacrificing an Animon with the Mystical Relic causing the player to permanently lose that Animon's held items. |
Mystical Relic Evolution | Fixed certain Animon being unable to evolve after the Mystical Relic was used on them. |
Nuclheart Second Form | Fixed a case where Nuclheart's second form might not activate. |
Minor Fixes | Various additional minor bug fixes. |
After this hotfix the developer listed the following issues as still under investigation:
Sound effects can glitch when walking on the bridges in Speranova.
The Animon menu can stop responding after using the XP Encoder; exiting to the bag lets play continue.
The Horrens and Mestus variants of Blumester share the same moveset.
Removing all selected skills from an Animon in the Skill Management menu can clear any skill upgrades.
The Jump Scare quirk can trigger multiple times on a Flaming Bullets attack.
The VSync option in the Settings menu does not work as expected.
On a first visit during the tutorial, unwanted assets can rarely load into the Anispace.
Hotfix 4 (July 7, 2026)
A fourth post-launch hotfix arrived on July 7, 2026. It was a small, targeted patch with a single listed fix: a black screen that some players ran into during an early cutscene, which could block progress, no longer occurs. The developer described it as a minor release pushed out quickly rather than the planned content update, and it added no new known issues. The issues listed above under Hotfix 3 remain under investigation for a later patch.
The developer has also said a larger content update is planned for July 2026, described as the game's first major update, bringing community-requested improvements, balancing changes, and additional Lost Animon. Those additions are not in the game yet. Hotfixes reach the Steam build first, and the Nintendo Switch version follows once each patch clears platform certification, so Switch fix parity can trail the PC build.
Workarounds and Tips
Save often, and confirm your save loaded correctly before closing the game.
If you fall through the world or get stuck in a menu, reload your most recent save.
If an online feature fails, wait a moment and try again, since these errors were often intermittent.
Keep the game updated, since post-launch patches are expected to resolve several of these issues.
