Crafting and Cooking

Alongside catching and battling Animon, LumenTale: Memories of Trey lets you craft useful items and cook food. Both activities happen at points called the Fountain, which double as rest stops on your travels.
The Fountain
The Fountain is more than a save point. Stopping at one lets you heal your party, craft items, cook food, and even manage time. It is the practical hub between expeditions, and you will plan around the next Fountain as much as the next dungeon. You will see Fountains both in the world and inside the Anispace.
Who Crafts and Cooks
Crafting and cooking are handled by your party members, and each is better at a different task. When the wrong character is used, ingredients can be wasted on failed attempts, so it pays to match the job to the person.
Character | Best At | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Cooking | Wastes the fewest ingredients; use Trey when cooking recipes. | |
Crafting Bilias | ||
Nada | General help | Can craft and cook, but at a lower success rate than the specialist for each task. |
Crafting
Crafting turns gathered materials into useful items. Players have reported around 128 cooking recipes alongside a smaller set of workshop crafting projects, covering consumables that help in battle and goods that support your team out in the field. Keeping a stock of crafted items makes longer trips through the wilds and dungeons of Talea far more manageable.
Recipes can be bought in certain cities, but you can also attempt a recipe on your own through the Experiment button as long as you have the right materials. This is how you can produce Bilias and other goods without first owning the recipe, though success is not guaranteed and depends on which character is crafting. See How to Get More Bilias.
Crafting Bilias
Capture items called Bilias can be crafted at rest spots. Recipes for different Bilia variants can be bought in certain cities, or you can try the Experiment button with the right materials. Switch to Ales when crafting Bilias, since he has a higher success rate than Trey or Nada. See Items and Currency and How to Get More Bilias.
Cooking

Cooking lets you prepare food from ingredients you collect out in the world. Food is a practical part of keeping your party going during exploration, and recipes scale alongside the materials you find in each region. Many recipes do more than restore health.
Recipe | Effect |
|---|---|
Riso del Bosco | Grants an Animon 1000 EXP; buy the recipe once it appears in city restaurants. |
Stat-boosting recipes | Several recipes raise an Animon's innate stats. Use Trey to avoid wasting ingredients. |
Cooking stat-boosting food is one of the main ways to permanently strengthen an Animon, working alongside stat point distribution. Cooking a high-EXP recipe is also a reliable way to level up. See How to Get EXP Fast and How to Increase Stats.
Gathering Materials
The materials behind your recipes are gathered out in the world. Plants and gatherables can be picked from the field, and rocks can be broken with a Geo Type Animon using the Holoken. Anivite Crystals, common in caves such as those in the Scarlet Woods and Area 01, drop Anivite and sometimes gemstones like Ruby and Sapphire. See How to Break Rocks for details.
Pepper's Tests
A character named Pepper in Speranova City sets a series of tests, two of which ask for specific items used to craft various objects. Completing them is a matter of gathering the right materials from across Talea.
Items Needed | Where to Obtain |
|---|---|
Glass (33), Metal (30), Plastic (3) | Any Lumen Club (all are fast travel points) |
Pane | Arsilia City (buy the recipe or the item itself) |
Purple Poppy (10) | Iris Hamlet (re-enter the map if you run out of gatherables) |
White Meat | Store in Speranova City, to the left of the Lumen Club |
Anivite (8), Anivite EX, Quartz (10) | Destroy green rocks in the overworld with a Geo Type Animon (random drops) |
Tomato |
Note that there is no fast travel directly back to Iris Hamlet; the closest fast travel point is Arsilia City. See How to Complete Pepper's Tests.
Why It Matters
Prepare consumables before tackling a new region or dungeon.
Turn gathered materials into items rather than letting them sit unused.
Use the Fountain as a natural rest point between encounters.
Cook stat-boosting and high-EXP recipes to strengthen your team faster.
Lean on time manipulation at the Fountain to chase encounters tied to a specific time of day.
