Full article covering teenager life stage duration, high school, all 13 adult skills, teen romance (v0.2.0), business relationships, planned High School Life expansion, and tips
The Teenager life stage is the second playable life stage in inZOI, lasting 4 in-game days. Teenagers attend high school, gain access to all 13 adult skills, and begin forming deeper social connections. This stage serves as a bridge between the foundational Child stage and the fully unlocked Young Adult stage.
The v0.2.0 update (June 2025) introduced teen romance, allowing teenagers to pursue romantic relationships and dating for the first time. Business relationships also become available at this stage, opening early social networking opportunities.
The Teenager stage lasts 4 in-game days, making it the shortest life stage aside from special stages. After 4 days, the teenager automatically ages up to the Young Adult stage, where the full feature set of the game becomes available.
Teenagers attend high school as their daily obligation. Like elementary school for children, high school operates as a rabbit hole activity. School days include classes, exams, and social interactions with classmates.
A major High School Life expansion is planned for May 2026. This expansion will add on-site classes, interactive exams, prom events, and a graduation ceremony, transforming high school from a rabbit hole into a fully playable experience.
All 13 adult skills become available during the Teenager stage, replacing the four child-exclusive skills. If a child maxed out their child skills before aging up, the corresponding adult skills receive a starting boost.

Because the Teenager stage only lasts 4 days, skill progression is limited. Most serious skill leveling happens during the Young Adult and Adult stages. However, getting an early start on key skills during the teen years can provide an advantage.
The v0.2.0 update (June 2025) added romantic interactions for teenagers. Before this update, romance was restricted to Young Adults and older. With teen romance enabled, teenagers can:
Develop crushes and romantic interest in other teen Zois
Go on dates to community lots and social venues
Build romantic relationship meters through flirting and spending time together
Experience heartbreak and relationship drama
Teen romance does not include marriage, moving in together, or pregnancy. Those features remain locked until the Young Adult stage.
Business relationships unlock during the Teenager stage. While teenagers cannot own or manage businesses, they can begin building professional connections with other Zois. These early connections can be valuable later when the Zoi enters the workforce as a Young Adult.
Teenagers cannot hold full-time careers. Their primary obligation is high school attendance. Part-time work options may become available in future updates, but as of the current version, teenagers focus on school and skill development.
The 4-day duration is short. Prioritize activities that matter most to your long-term plans for the Zoi.
Start leveling the skills you plan to focus on as a Young Adult. Even a few levels of head start helps.
Take advantage of teen romance to build relationships early. Strong romantic connections carry over when aging up.
Complete school obligations consistently. Falling behind at school affects mood and can waste precious time.
Build friendships and business relationships now. The social network you create as a teenager remains intact in later stages.
