Added his boss battles in Chapters 2 and 12 of Theodora's path; updated unknowns wording
Dyan is an antagonist in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. He is Saraminian, he is bound up in the succession crisis that opens the story of Theodora, and he appears as a boss in her route. His one published conviction is blunt: a country is territory, and territory ruled by a powerful king is what makes one.
Field | Detail |
|---|---|
Japanese name | ダヤン |
Gender | Male |
Nationality | Saraminian |
Homeland | Kingdom of Saramis |
Role | Boss on the Theodora route |
Voice | Not announced |
The premise text for Theodora's route says she returns to Megaira, the royal capital of Saramis, for the first time in years after a tour of duty at Fort Zanbar, and that an assassin kills her father, King Sergio, and takes her right arm. Sergio had already named Theodora his successor despite her being the younger of his two children.
Dyan is presented as the other child, her older brother, and later material connects him to the plot behind the killing. As of September 2026 this wiki has not documented how far that involvement goes, and the more specific version of the story, in which Dyan himself takes her arm, rests on a single roster description rather than on published dialogue. Treat the outline as established and the details as unconfirmed.
Pre-release material also had him holding the Saramis throne between Sergio and Theodora, which would place his scenes before she takes control of the kingdom. Chapter 2 of her path is titled Dyan's Uprising and its battle is named Scramble for the Throne, but one listing still calls him a prince rather than a king, so the point is open.
A scene in Megaira has Bonaventure, the statesman who served under the previous king, put a direct question to Dyan about what a country actually is. Dyan answers that a country is territory, and that territory ruled by a powerful king is what makes it one. Bonaventure rejects the answer outright and tells him he lacks the power to win over the people. The exchange doubles as a statement of what Theodora is meant to be measured against.
Dyan is listed as a boss in the early chapters fought by Megaira's Beacon, the clan Theodora leads in the Heroic Games. As of September 2026, this wiki has not documented his class, weapon or voice credit. He is counted among the game's named antagonists, a group that also covers the demon god Balor and Lechner.
In the shipped game he is the boss of two chapters on Theodora's path. Chapter 2, Dyan's Uprising, ends in Scramble for the Throne, which is won by defeating him. He returns for her last battle of Part I: Chapter 12, The War of Zanbar, ends in The Battle of Fort Zanbar, a mostly linear spiral climb that is again won by defeating Dyan. If Theodora lent her ship to Anatolia in Chapter 10, Anatolia and Sha Lan arrive partway through that battle to help. Theodora's path moves on to Part II after it.
His Japanese name is ダヤン, which romanises as Dayan, and both spellings have been used for him. They refer to the same character, not to two people. See List of Characters for the current roster and Story and Plot Structure for how the four routes fit together.
For the sister he stands against and the route he is fought on, see Theodora. The king whose assassination opens that crisis is Sergio, and the throne and the axe it demands are covered on Saramis.
