Added Part I appearances, Cai's Paralogue role and the Part III quest that recruits him; updated role
Centurio is a character in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, a knight serving the temple of Aurora in Dagsion. He belongs to the Vulcans, an elite unit whose members are chosen from among the temple priests, and he is an old friend of Castor, the father of Cai. It is Centurio who arrives in the village of Ribeira on Cai's fifteenth birthday to take Castor into custody.

Centurio and Castor served as Vulcans together and trust each other deeply, which makes the errand he is handed an ugly one. He knocks at the door in Ribeira, finds the son rather than the father, remarks that the boy looks just like his mother, and leaves a single word to pass on: tomorrow. The arrest follows, and Castor is taken to a prison beneath the capital.
His feelings about what happens next are not simple either. Speaking to Cai after the boy qualifies for the Heroic Games, he offers congratulations and admits in the same breath that he feels somewhat conflicted about it.
His profile describes a wall of a unit. A half-hearted attack bounces off him without a scratch, and he answers it by turning the tables on whoever threw it. Pre-release footage puts him on a fog-of-war jungle map as a guest unit fighting beside Cai, Tialla, Peter, Ultand and Guzran, where an enemy-phase attack triggers a damage-reduction skill and a personal skill recorded as Sturdy Corundum.
He gains no experience in that battle, which is normal for a guest unit. In Part I he fights only as an allied guest, but he becomes a permanent recruit in Part III, as described below. See Recruitment for how permanent recruits are handled.
On Cai's path an optional scene with Centurio and Castor can be watched in the east of Dagsion during Chapter 2, and in Chapter 4, Festival of the Strong, he runs the tutorial for Mentoring, a function only Cai's path has, which rewards an Archer's Ring.
On the other three paths he is on the enemy side of Great Escape, Cai's Paralogue, which Cai hands out in the City Streets between 10/16 and 10/22 on the in-game calendar. The map asks the player to stop the enemies reaching their destination, and one straightforward approach is to take Centurio out early. Paralogues covers the rest.
Centurio joins in the Second Section of Part III after the quest Rescue Centurio. A temple soldier in Temple Row gives it; the objective is to defeat the Underworld Giants at Elissa Pass, the reward is 3000 gold and 100 Renown, and like every Part III subquest it expires on 6/6. The quest may require Cai to have been brought into Part III.
He likes his duties at the temple and he likes patrolling. Board games and classroom study also turn up among his interests.

Japanese | セントリオン (Sentorion) |
The English name is the Latin word for the officer who commanded a unit of roughly a hundred soldiers in the Roman army. His Japanese profile gives him the epithet 鋼玉, rendered as Corundum, and it is the source of his personal skill name.
Castor is the old friend he is sent to arrest, and that errand is what puts Cai on the road to the tournament. The goddess whose temple he serves is Aurora.
