Common questions about SpaceCraft, the online space exploration and building game from Shiro Games.
SpaceCraft is an online space exploration and building game. You explore a vast universe of thousands of solar systems and planets, mine and craft resources, design and build ships, and trade with other players in a galaxy that evolves through player actions. See Overview.
It launches in Early Access on June 11, 2026, after an original target of May 20, 2026. A Beta is scheduled to run from May 20, 2026. See Release Date and Platforms. Beta invitation waves are scheduled for May 20 and June 8, 2026, and a single player Demo and a Playtest can be requested ahead of launch.
SpaceCraft is a PC game released through Steam, with Windows as the supported operating system. No console versions have been announced.
Both. The game lists single-player along with multiplayer and online co-op, so you can explore and build alone or team up with others. See Corporations and Co-Op.
Corporations are player groups you can create or join to collaborate at a larger scale, assigning roles and dividing tasks across interplanetary operations. See Corporations and Co-Op.
At Early Access launch, combat is player versus environment, against threats such as space pirates and hostile planet creatures. Direct player versus player combat is not part of the Early Access launch; the developer has discussed a possible consent based PvP option for the future but has not confirmed it for the current build. See Combat.
The economy is player-driven. You buy and sell resources, ship parts, and blueprints, and each marketplace transaction affects prices. See Trading and the Player-Driven Economy.
The developer expects at least six months in Early Access, with the exact length depending on feedback and development progress. See Early Access.
The launch price had not been publicly announced at the time of writing. The developer plans to gradually raise the price at the full 1.0 release. See Editions and Pre-Order.
At minimum, Windows 10 64-bit with an Intel i3 8350K, 8 GB RAM, a GeForce 1060, and 25 GB of storage. See System Requirements for recommended specs.
Humanity, nearly eradicated in a struggle against an enemy called the Tripods, escaped through a mysterious portal to a distant part of the universe and must rebuild. You play an ex-convict working for an organization called The Company, starting with a single ship and no money. See Setting and Story.
The developer describes SpaceCraft as an online multiplayer game but deliberately avoids calling it a traditional MMO. You can meet other players in space and on planets, but the game is also fully viable for solo players. See Corporations and Co-Op.
Yes. It is a multiplayer game that runs on official servers and requires a connection, but it can be played entirely alone. The universe is persistent, so your factories keep producing and market prices keep changing while you are offline. There are no private dedicated servers, and the developer aims to support several thousand players per server.
Both. You are in first person on foot and inside buildings, and in third person while flying your ship. A first-person cockpit view has been a common request and was added during the playtest.
The team is focused on a PC keyboard-and-mouse control scheme, and controller support is unlikely at these early stages of development.
