Overview

Two-handed spears are polearm weapons that excel at keeping enemies at a distance. Their long reach allows players to strike before opponents can close the gap, making them ideal for controlling space in both one-on-one duels and group encounters. Spears are used by several notable characters in Crimson Desert, including members of various mercenary companies.

Spears can be upgraded through the refining system to increase their base stats. Many support Abyss Core slots for further customization.

Combat Overview

Spears are defined by their exceptional reach. Thrust attacks strike at a distance that most other weapons cannot match, giving spear users a significant advantage in positioning. Sweeping attacks can catch multiple enemies, and the weapon's length allows for effective zone control during large-scale battles.

Longest Turning Slash Reach in the Game

The spear move set carries the longest Turning Slash arc of any weapon category. Side-by-side tests against other two-handed weapon types and every one-handed type show the spear move set consistently covering more ground, which translates into safer boss pokes and wider AoE coverage against enemy packs. The spear move set also layers in fast pokes, multi-hit AoE attacks, and quick recovery frames while keeping full two-handed damage.

Shared Move Set with Halberds and Cannons

Halberds and cannons use the exact same move set as spears. A Turning Slash Nuke Build built around the spear move set can swap between a spear, a halberd like Vow of the Dead King, or a cannon like Gamma Barrel Cannon without relearning combos. Pick the body based on aesthetics, innate crit, and whether you want the ranged shot that only cannons provide.
