Supply Chest

Distinguish lost-loot Supply Chests from Private Storage and qualify the older capacity and launch claims.
The Supply Chest guide describes a passive lost-loot container at the Greymane Camp at Howling Hill in Crimson Desert. It automatically gathers loot that you miss or leave behind during combat encounters, camp liberations, and point-of-interest clearing. The Supply Chest is not a manual storage system; you cannot deposit items into it yourself. That lost-loot function should be distinguished from the separately documented Private Storage, which does accept items from your inventory.
Earlier launch-era notes said Crimson Desert lacked a traditional stash and assigned the Supply Chest a capacity of 230 slots. The exact launch absence and that capacity are retained as unverified earlier notes. Version 1.00.03 explicitly added Private Storage at the temporary lodgings in Hernand and at Howling Hill; the old no-stash account is not a current blanket storage rule.

The Supply Chest location guide lists a chest in Kliff's tent at the Royal Trading Post in Hernand City, and another at the Greymane Camp at Howling Hill. Earlier notes placed the latter behind Carl, the Base Camp Provisions Keeper. Carl stands near the provisions area. That older position should not be treated as proof that lost-loot and manual-storage menus are interchangeable; use the location guide and the actual chest prompt.
The camp Supply Chest is listed after restoring Howling Hill Camp through the main story progression during Chapter 3. The same guide lists the Royal Trading Post chest as the first one available. The older claim that no side quests are required is not a separate current unlock test; follow the actual restoration and chest prompt.
The Supply Chest collects items passively from multiple entries:
Source | What Gets Collected |
|---|---|
Loot drops from enemies you defeated but did not pick up before the area was cleared or enemies despawned | |
Camp Liberations | Any items left on the ground after you liberate an enemy camp or point of interest |
Dropped Letters | Letters and documents you encountered but did not collect during quests |
Recipes that dropped during gameplay but were not examined or picked up |
The types of items that can appear in the Supply Chest include upgrade materials, food, weapons, crafting resources, and other miscellaneous loot. Essentially, anything that would have dropped as a pick-up during gameplay can end up in the chest if you missed it.
Earlier capacity notes assigned the Supply Chest 230 slots. That exact cap is not specified by the cited lost-loot guide. Earlier notes also said items stack like the personal inventory, with consumables and materials stacking up to 50 per slot and weapons and armor using one slot each. Those exact stack rules remain unverified rather than a confirmed current capacity model.
If the chest reaches capacity, new items may not be saved. To prevent this, make a habit of checking the Supply Chest every time you return to camp. Transfer valuable items to your inventory or sell them to free up space.
In addition to the Supply Chest, you can speak with Carl directly and select the Recover Items tab. This service allows you to repurchase items that were lost from the Kuku Pot. If you accidentally lose a Kuku Pot item, Carl can sell it back to you, though the repurchase cost is higher than the item's original value. This is a separate service from the Supply Chest and covers specifically Kuku Pot losses.
Not manual storage: You cannot place items into the Supply Chest yourself. It only collects items you missed during gameplay.
Current storage distinction: Crimson Desert was described in older notes as lacking a player stash or bank system at launch. That earlier claim is not independently established here. Version 1.00.03 added manual Private Storage; do not confuse its item-deposit function with the lost-loot chest described above.
Capacity limit: The older capacity quote is 230 slots, not a newly verified limit. Check the displayed capacity and collect needed loot regularly.
Items are not sorted: Loot in the chest is stored in the order it was collected. You may need to scroll through it to find specific items.
Check the Supply Chest every time you return to Greymane Camp to sell, craft, or restock. This keeps the chest from overflowing and ensures you do not miss valuable drops.
After large-scale liberations where many enemies are defeated quickly, the Supply Chest is especially useful. Enemies can despawn before you have time to loot them all, and those drops go straight to the chest.
If you have pets that auto-collect loot, the Supply Chest is a backup for anything your pets miss.
Sell documents, books, and other already-read items from the chest to vendors for extra silver. Once you have read them, they take up space with no additional benefit.
Combine Supply Chest management with regular inventory expansion through bags and commissions for the smoothest gameplay experience.
