Smiting Bolt Proficiency

Overview

Smiting Bolt Proficiency is an enhanced ranged skill for Damiane in the Stamina Skill Tree. It upgrades the base Smiting Bolt to allow Damiane to repeatedly call down spears of light to damage enemies. By holding the attack button, she can sustain a barrage of divine spears for continuous pressure.

How to Unlock

Upgrade Smiting Bolt to Level 2 by spending 1 Abyss Artifact. Smiting Bolt is one of Damiane's starting abilities, so this proficiency can be acquired as soon as you have a spare Abyss Artifact.

Combat Tips

• Hold R2 to sustain the spear barrage for consistent damage on large or slow-moving targets.

• The repeated spears make this skill excellent for area denial in group encounters.

• At Level 3, unlock Smiting Bolt Sure Hit to ensure none of these spears miss.

Barrage Tactics

The Proficiency upgrade turns Smiting Bolt from a single-shot ability into a sustained barrage. Hold R2 and Damiane will continue calling down spears until the button is released or Stamina runs out. Each spear still costs the same 40 Stamina as the base cast, so plan for a three-or-four-spear volley per Stamina bar rather than an unlimited rain.

The barrage is especially effective when enemies are clumped together by Storm Pillar. Each descending spear carries its own area of effect, which means the group takes repeated damage as long as they stay grouped up. For groups that refuse to stay still, upgrade to Smiting Bolt Sure Hit to guarantee that each spear in the volley lands on its intended target.
