Sigil of Bonding

On This Page
The Sigil of Bonding is a pet accessory item added in Patch 1.04.00. Equipped on a tamed cat from the new pet accessory slot, it solves the desync that previously caused cats to fall off the player during fast traversal, and keeps the cat attached during high-motion activities including combat, climbing, and horseback riding. Patch 1.04 changed cats to dismount after a short window by default; the Sigil of Bonding is the opt-in way to restore the older in-motion behavior on a per-cat basis.

What it Does
Patch 1.04 added a new pet accessory slot to every tameable companion and reworked cat shoulder-riding so that, by default, a cat dismounts after a short period rather than staying on the player indefinitely. The Sigil of Bonding reverses that change for the equipped cat: it keeps its perch on the player even during fast motion. In practice this matters in three concrete cases:
Combat: the cat stays on the player during combos and dodge rolls instead of being thrown off after the first hit reaction.
Climbing: the cat sticks during climb animations, which previously dismounted it as soon as the player pulled themselves up onto a ledge.
Horseback riding: the cat remains attached when the player mounts a horse, instead of dropping to the ground for the rider to pick up afterward.
Equipping the Sigil does not change combat numbers; it is purely a behavior modifier on the cat's attachment logic.
Where to Buy
The Sigil is sold by Lacey, a roaming merchant who walks between the Florindale and Petalton Workshop zones inside Pororin Village. She is the only NPC who currently stocks the Sigil. The price is 8 Silver Coins per copy, capped at 3 per visit, with a roughly 7 in-game day cooldown before another set of three is available.
Patrol path. Lacey rotates between the two named zones rather than standing at a fixed market stall.
Stock notes. The Sigil is sold individually rather than in bulk; each tamed cat needs its own copy of the accessory if the player wants the in-motion behavior on more than one. Plan around the 3-per-visit cap accordingly.
Naming Pitfall: Sigil of Bonding vs Sotdae of Bond
Two new 1.04 items have very similar names and are commonly mixed up in patch coverage and player chat:
Item | What It Is | Source | |
|---|---|---|---|
Sigil of Bonding | Cat shoulder accessory. | ||
Sotdae of Bond | Bird-taming feeder placed on the ground. | Quest reward from the Authorized Access section of the Trembling Woods faction quest |
The Sigil is not a bird tool, and the Sotdae is not a pet accessory. Always check the inventory icon before placing or equipping.
