The Parvel Greatsword is a two-handed weapon in Crimson Desert that combines solid base damage with a notable Critical Rate bonus. At 19 attack power and Critical Rate Lv. 2, it occupies a middle ground between pure-damage longswords like the Dewhaven Longsword (20 attack, no crit) and lower-attack options that lean harder into secondary stats.
The Parvel name suggests a connection to one of Pywel's regional crafting traditions. The greatsword's design philosophy centers on balanced offense: the Critical Rate Lv. 2 bonus means a noticeable portion of swings will land as critical hits, dealing amplified damage on top of the already respectable 19 base attack. This makes the Parvel Greatsword effective against both regular enemies and tougher targets like elite foes and bosses.

The Parvel Greatsword can be crafted at a Blacksmith after learning the recipe from the Two Handed Weapons of the World Vol. 2 crafting manual. Crafting manuals are found during exploration or purchased from merchants. The weapon may also appear as random loot scattered across Pywel's open world.

Five Abyss Gear slots give the Parvel Greatsword strong customization options. The built-in Critical Rate Lv. 2 serves as a foundation for crit-focused builds. Stacking additional crit chance through Abyss Cores can push the total crit rate high enough that critical hits become a reliable occurrence rather than an occasional bonus. Alternatively, players can use the slots to add flat attack power or utility effects like stagger damage to round out the weapon's profile.
Outside of crafting, the Parvel Greatsword can also be bought directly from a merchant inside the town of Del Azear. Head into the main settlement, take the first left from the bridge, follow the path in, then take another left to reach the weapon vendor. The merchant has the greatsword available to purchase from the start of your visit, so players who do not want to wait on the Two Handed Weapons of the World Vol. 2 crafting manual can skip straight to the purchase route.
Del Azear is reachable in the mid-game. Players report being able to freely explore the town and buy the sword from around Chapter 6 onward, though the exact unlock point varies by main-quest progression. If the merchant does not stock the weapon on a first visit, return after advancing the main story.
The Parvel Greatsword is restricted to Damiane only. It cannot be equipped on Kliff or Oongkawhich is the main caveat for players who want to take the Andúril-style blade into combat. If the Damiane character slot is not yet unlocked, see the How to Unlock Damiane guide.
The Parvel Greatsword is widely recognised in the Crimson Desert community as a visual homage to Aragorn's Andúril, the Flame of the West, from The Lord of the Rings. The blade shape matches closely, the metal carries a slight gold tinge under strong sunlight, and there is a decorative pattern running down the centre of the flat. When viewed in photo mode the resemblance is striking, which is why many players pick this greatsword for cinematic screenshot builds on Damiane regardless of its raw stat profile.
The Parvel Greatsword's combination of 19 attack and Lv. 2 crit rate places it among the strongest standard greatswords in the game's combat system. In longer fights against bosses or elite enemies, the crit bonus translates to meaningful damage increases over time. Each critical hit with a greatsword's high base damage can deal punishing burst that staggers or chunks through health bars.
Compared to the Iris Longsword (19 attack, Crit Rate Lv. 1), the Parvel Greatsword offers the same base damage with a stronger crit bonus. Against the Thalwynd Longsword (16 attack, Crit Rate Lv. 2), the Parvel wins on both base attack and effective DPS due to higher raw damage per swing.
The Lv. 2 Critical Rate bonus makes this weapon a natural fit for builds that stack crit chance through Abyss Gear cores. Reaching a high cumulative crit rate transforms greatsword damage output significantly.
In group encounters, the wide greatsword arcs can score critical hits on multiple enemies in a single swing, clearing mobs faster than weapons that rely on raw attack alone.
If you already have the Dewhaven Longsword and want a sidegrade, the Parvel Greatsword trades 1 point of base attack for a meaningful crit chance boost that pays off in sustained combat.
