Notice boards are interactive objects scattered across Pywel in Crimson Desert. They function as community bulletin boards where players can pick up commissions, bounty notices, and local requests from NPCs. Notice boards appear in towns, trading posts, military camps, and liberated outposts. They are marked on the minimap with a purple scroll icon, making them easy to spot while exploring.
Notice boards are one of the most important sources of side content in the game. The quests they offer range from simple delivery errands to full bounty hunts against named outlaws, and their rewards include Silver, Contribution points, inventory expansion tools, crafting materials, and faction reputation.
Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
Type | Interactive world object |
Minimap Icon | Purple scroll |
First Available | Chapter 2 (City of Hernand) |
Content Types | Commissions, Bounty Notices, NPC Requests |
Common Rewards | Silver, Contribution, Medium Bags, crafting materials |
Interaction | Walk up and interact; hold CTRL (PC) or LB/L1 (gamepad) to read |
When you approach a notice board, an interaction prompt appears on screen. Press the interact button to open the board and view its posted notices. Each individual notice can be examined separately. To read a bounty poster or commission request in detail, select it and hold CTRL on keyboard or LB/L1 on a gamepad. Reading a notice is what activates the associated quest; simply walking past the board without interacting does nothing.
Once you read a bounty notice, the target's last known location is marked on your world map. For commission requests, the quest details and objectives appear in your Journal under the appropriate faction tab. You can hold multiple active commissions and bounties at the same time.
Notice boards refresh their content as you progress through the story and complete existing quests. Some notices only appear after specific prerequisites are met, such as completing an earlier commission or liberating a nearby outpost. It is worth checking boards every time you return to a town, since new postings can appear without any notification.
Notice boards are found throughout Pywel. The most important ones are located in the major towns and camps that serve as quest hubs.
Location | Region | Content Type |
|---|---|---|
City of Hernand (Town Square) | Commissions, Bounty Notices | |
Merchant commissions | ||
Liberated outposts (e.g., Springtide Mill) | Various | Local requests, faction quests |
Roadside lantern posts | Various | Bounty posters |
In Hernand, there are two primary notice boards that players should check regularly: the main board at the City of Hernand town square and the board inside the Goldleaf Guildhouse. These two boards between them cover the full set of Hernand Commissions. Some commissions only appear on one board or the other, so checking both is important.
Bounty posters also appear individually on lantern posts and street poles throughout towns and along roadsides. These are not part of the main notice boards but function the same way: interact with the poster and read it to activate the bounty quest.
The content posted on notice boards falls into three main categories: commissions, bounty notices, and NPC requests. Each type has its own reward structure and gameplay loop.
Commissions are tasks posted by the working-class residents of a town or camp. They typically involve gathering resources, delivering items, running messages, or providing supplies to NPCs. Commissions are the primary source of Medium Bags (+3 inventory slots each), making them essential for inventory expansion. There are 63 Hernand Commissions in the City of Hernand area alone, and additional commission sets are available at Greymane Camp and in the Demeniss region.
Commission Set | Location | Count | |
|---|---|---|---|
63 | Medium Bags, Silver, Contribution | ||
Multiple | Medium Bags, crafting materials | ||
Multiple | Medium Bags, Demenissian Contribution |
Bounty notices are wanted posters for named outlaws. They appear on notice boards and on individual street posts starting in Chapter 2. Each poster lists the outlaw's name, physical description, last known area, and the Silver reward for their capture. Reading a bounty poster marks the target's approximate location on the world map.
There are nine bounty targets in the Hernand region. Eight of them have posters scattered around the City of Hernand, while the ninth (Haldin) only appears after liberating the Vilkom Outpost from the Wolf Tracker bandits. Bounties are tied to House Celeste and reward both Silver and Hernandian Contribution when turned in. Capturing a target alive at the local constabulary pays the full posted reward; if the target dies, you receive only half.
Bounty Target | Reward (Alive) | Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Introductory | Tutorial bounty; teaches the capture system | ||
2 Silver | May need to wait for him to appear | ||
5 Silver | Contract killer; fakes distress to lure targets | ||
8 Silver | Noble-born outlaw | ||
12 Silver | Sunset Valley, south of Hernand | Located below the Mountain of Frozen Souls | |
12 Silver | Greenfield Highlands | Combat bounty; requires fighting before capture | |
15 Silver | Pays 10 Silver if killed | ||
25 Silver | Southern Pororin | Will try to flee; tackle quickly | |
30 Silver | Requires liberating outpost first; highest reward |
Some notices are personal requests from named NPCs. These function similarly to commissions but are often tied to faction quests or standalone side content. Typical tasks include delivering a message to another NPC, investigating a problem (such as checking honey quality for Ugmon), or purchasing and delivering specific goods from local shops. These requests reward a mix of Silver, Contribution, trust with the requesting NPC, and sometimes unique items or crafting materials.
After reading a bounty poster and tracking down the target, the capture process follows a specific sequence. For non-combat bounties, approach the target and press the Tackle button to pin them to the ground. While they are pinned, hit them a few times until the Tie Up prompt appears. Activate Tie Up to restrain the outlaw, then pick up the body. Walk to your horse and place the prisoner on the mount.
For combat bounties like Alessio, you must first deplete the target's health bar through normal combat. Once their health reaches the capture threshold, the Tackle prompt becomes available. From there, the process is the same as non-combat bounties.
Deliver the restrained outlaw to the nearest constabulary to collect your reward. The bounty notice itself tells you which constabulary to use. Turning in a live prisoner pays the full Silver amount listed on the poster. If the target dies during the encounter (from too many hits after tackling or during combat), you still complete the bounty but receive only half the Silver.
The rewards from notice board content fall into several categories, each of which feeds into a different progression system.
Reward Type | Source | Benefit |
|---|---|---|
Medium Bag (+3 Slots) | Commissions | |
Bounties, some commissions | Currency for purchasing gear, supplies, and services | |
Bounties, commissions | Unlocks regional shop items, hire workers, housing | |
NPC Trust | NPC Requests | Opens new dialogue, quests, and vendor stock |
Commissions | Used in crafting and camp upgrades |
Commissions are particularly valuable in the early and mid game because Medium Bags are one of the only reliable ways to expand your inventory. Completing all 63 Hernand Commissions alongside the Greymane Commissions provides the bulk of available inventory slots before reaching later regions.
When you liberate an outpost or settlement from hostile forces, new notice boards often appear at the cleared location. These boards carry local requests from the residents who were previously under threat. Liberating outposts is part of the broader liberation system and ties directly into Contribution gains for the surrounding region.
Some bounty targets, notably Haldin, only become available after their hiding location has been liberated. Until the Vilkom Outpost is freed from the Wolf Tracker bandits, Haldin's bounty notice does not appear anywhere in the game world. This creates a natural incentive to engage with the liberation system before hunting for the highest-value bounties.
Check both the Hernand town square board and the Goldleaf Guildhouse board every time you visit. Some commissions only appear on one of the two.
New notices can appear after completing earlier commissions or progressing through the main story. Revisit boards regularly.
Always capture bounty targets alive for the full Silver reward. Killing a target halves the payout.
Bounty posters also appear on individual lantern posts and street poles, not just on formal notice boards. Watch for the purple scroll icon on your minimap.
Complete Hernand Commissions and Greymane Commissions together to maximize inventory expansion in the early game.
Liberate hostile outposts to unlock new notice boards with additional quests and to make certain high-value bounties available.
The Journal tracks all active commissions and bounties under their respective faction tabs. Use it to manage multiple quests at once.
