Overview
Night Storm Cave is a hidden waterfall cave in the Hernand region of Crimson Desert. The cave is tucked into the mountains northwest of Hernand City, near Haunted Hill. Its entrance sits behind a rushing waterfall, and a small pile of stacked rocks outside marks the location for observant travelers.
At night, the roar of the water and the mountain wind combine to create a storm-like resonance that echoes deep into the cave. This violent sound spreading through the darkness is what gives the cave its name. The noise reaches far into the interior, reverberating off the stone walls like the heartbeat of the earth itself.
Night Storm Cave is one of several Waterside Caves scattered across the Hernand mountains. A cluster of similar caves in this area each hold a piece of the Fallen Kingdom Set, making the surrounding mountains a valuable destination for players looking to gear up early in the game.
Location
To find Night Storm Cave, travel northwest from Hernand City and head up into the mountains toward Haunted Hill. On the map, look above the first "N" in "Hernand" and follow the river westward until you reach a waterfall. The cave entrance is hidden directly behind this waterfall.
Before approaching the water, look for a pile of stacked rocks (a stone cairn) near the base of the waterfall. This cairn is the telltale sign that a cave exists behind the water. Every waterfall cave in Pywel uses this same visual marker, so learning to spot them will help you find other hidden caves across the world.
How to Enter
You cannot simply walk through the waterfall. Attempting to do so will knock Kliff backward and deal damage. Instead, you must use the Stab ability to pierce through the curtain of water. Stand close to the waterfall, face it directly, and activate Stab (RB + Y on controller, or Shift + Right Click on mouse and keyboard). The forward thrust of the ability carries you through the water and into the cave.
The Stab technique is learned naturally during the main story, but it can also be acquired as a skill in the Blue skill tree if you have not progressed far enough in the campaign. Make sure the ability is equipped before heading to the cave.
Loot
Inside Night Storm Cave, a treasure chest contains the Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom. These heavy plate boots are part of the Fallen Kingdom equipment set and offer a strong combination of defense, stamina regeneration, and swim speed.
Item | Type | Key Stats |
|---|---|---|
12 ATK, 5 DEF, Stamina Regen +2%, Swim Speed Multiplier 2.0% |
The Stamina Regen +2% bonus helps sustain combat actions and sprinting during exploration. Stamina is a critical resource for dodging, attacking, and climbing, so a passive boost to its regeneration rate is valuable in virtually every situation.
The Swim Speed Multiplier 2.0% doubles your movement speed in water. This is particularly useful when navigating rivers, lakes, and coastal areas, which are common throughout the Hernand region and beyond.
With 5 DEF, the Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom tie for one of the highest defense values among all footwear in the game. Combined with 12 ATK, they provide a solid blend of offense and defense that works well for both combat and exploration.
Nearby Fallen Kingdom Caves
Night Storm Cave is part of a cluster of waterfall caves in the Hernand mountains, each containing a different piece of the Fallen Kingdom Set. If you are collecting the full set, the other pieces can be found in nearby caves throughout the region:
Gloves: Plate Gloves of the Fallen Kingdom (found in Starlight Storm Cave)
Boots: Plate Boots of the Fallen Kingdom (found here, in Night Storm Cave)
All of these caves use the same waterfall entrance mechanic. Look for stone cairns at the base of each waterfall and use Stab to enter. The caves are relatively close together, so you can collect multiple pieces in a single trip through the mountains.
Tips
Waterside Cave loot does not respawn. Each cave can only be looted once per playthrough, so make sure you open the treasure chest before leaving.
The stone cairn outside the waterfall is easy to miss in poor weather or at night. If you are having trouble spotting it, try visiting during daytime.
The Stamina Regen +2% bonus stacks with similar effects from other Fallen Kingdom Set pieces and consumables, making it even more effective when combined with the right build.
Since the nearby caves also contain Fallen Kingdom pieces, plan a route through the mountains to collect the full set in one trip. All pieces are accessible early in the game, making this a strong way to gear up quickly.
The 5 DEF value matches the Plate Boots of the Shadows in defense, but with different utility bonuses. Choose based on whether you value stamina recovery and swim speed or the alternative stat bonuses.
