Leather Riding Hat
October 29, 2026 at 02:28 PM
Correct +0 Defense and distinguish the recorded Horse EXP effect from unverified +1 patch arithmetic.

Leather Riding Hat is a Boss Leather Armor headgear piece in Crimson Desert. An elegant leather hat favored by nobles, crafted in the form of a wide-brimmed hat that shields the wearer from the sun. A single long, pristine white feather graces one side, adding a touch of refined sophistication.

Fiona is the named seller in the exact record, which lists Kliff and Oongka, Defense 3 to 16 and Lightning Resistance Lv.1, with +2 Horse EXP Gain on the +10 card. The older 100-reputation gate, all-material gifting method, exclusive-stock claim and 3,718-Silver denomination are not independently established by that seller label. The record confirms a listed horse-related benefit, not a particular reduction in training time, a Trust-to-EXP equivalence or automatic save-migration behavior.
This item can be found as loot in the open world or obtained through specific quests and encounters.
Leather armor provides a balance between protection and mobility, sitting between Cloth Armor and Chain Mail in terms of defensive capability and weight.

The Leather Riding Hat is sold exclusively by Fiona, the saddler shopkeeper in the main city of Demeniss. To unlock it on her storefront, you have to push your reputation with her up to 100. Once you cross that threshold, the hat appears in her inventory at standard purchase price.
Fiona accepts crafting materials as gifts to raise reputation, which is by far the easiest path to 100. Hand in any crafting components you have stockpiled from gathering or salvaging, and the meter climbs steadily. There is no special category requirement, so even common materials work. Combine gift turn-ins with completing nearby House and trade-group missions for a faster climb.
The Leather Riding Hat is the head slot of the larger Riding Attire set, which also includes Master Trainer's Touch, Riding Boots, the Riding Attire chest piece, and the Riding Cloak. The raw +10 card records +2 Horse EXP Gain. The earlier full-set five-times-leveling claim and additive growth-rate formula were not directly measured by that record; treat them as older build observations rather than a tested result.

The Riding Hat is one headgear option in the riding outfit collection. An earlier account attributed a +1 Horse XP Gain addition to Patch 1.04.00, then summed four pieces to +4 and called that a doubling. The exact record instead lists +2 Horse EXP Gain on its +10 card; it does not independently establish the older patch date, additive set total or leveling-time multiplier.
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Type | |
Set | Riding Set |
Pre-1.04 effect | Cosmetic only; tooltip did not list a Horse XP modifier. |
Post-1.04 effect | Recorded +10 card: +2 Horse EXP Gain; earlier +1 patch quote unverified |
Patch updated |
The earlier tooltip history says the pre-1.04 hat lacked a listed Horse XP modifier and that the patch added +1, with four pieces totaling +4. Preserve that as an unverified historical account, separate from the exact recorded +2 Horse EXP Gain effect. A three-to-four arithmetic increase is not a doubling, and the item card does not measure a direct conversion from printed points to Trust gain or leveling speed.
The older +3-to-+4 arithmetic is one-third more printed points, not a doubling. It remains a hypothetical set example rather than proof of an additive combined effect or runtime leveling multiplier.
Noticeably reduces the in-game time required to reach full trust with a horse companion. Players who farm trust and skills on multiple horses see the largest gains.
No additional crafting or quest barrier. Existing copies of the hat in storage updated in place to the new tooltip when 1.04 went live; no rework or re-crafting was required.
The older table lists four outfit pieces and assumes +1 each. That is not an exhaustive current gear roster or proof of their combined effect; the hat's recorded +10 card gives +2 Horse EXP Gain:

The Riding Cloak is sold at the Back Alley Shop in Pailune once trust with that vendor reaches level 100, which gives a reliable late-game path to closing out the set. The remaining pieces, including the hat, are obtained through the same gear and outfit channels used for other riding-themed equipment.
