Feather of the Earth is a Sealed Abyss Artifact challenge in Crimson Desert. It belongs to the Hunting category of challenges and requires the player to carry 5 birds. Unlike combat-focused challenges, this one tests your ability to approach and catch wild animals using patience and positioning.

The Sealed Abyss Artifact is located on the south side of the road, directly northwest of Karin Quarry Rest Area in the Hernand region. Look for a rock altar near a tree with a mound of rocks. The shrine holding the Feather of the Earth artifact sits on this altar.
To detect the artifact, use one of these methods:
Use Blinding Flash while near the artifact location. A visible glint of light reveals the artifact's position.
Watch for the purple artifact icon to appear on your minimap while traveling along roads near Karin Quarry.
Hold up your sword and activate the Guiding Light ability (L1+R1 on PlayStation, LB+RB on Xbox, CTRL + Left Click on PC). A blue shimmer indicates a nearby artifact.
The challenge requires you to carry 5 birds. This does not mean you need to carry 5 birds at once; you simply need to successfully pick up birds 5 separate times.
Approach a bird in the wild. As you get close, an interact prompt appears on screen.
Hold the Interact button while pursuing the bird. Your character will dive toward the bird to grab it.
Even if the interact prompt appears greyed out during the chase, continue holding the button. Your character will still attempt the grab when close enough.
Once you have picked up and carried a bird, that counts as one toward the challenge total of 5.
Not all birds are equally easy to catch. The two most common bird types near the recommended farming area behave differently:

The best spot for catching birds is the river to the east of Hernand. This area has a dense population of both ducks and partridges along the shoreline, letting you complete the entire challenge without traveling far.
You do not need to catch birds at the artifact location itself. After activating the challenge at Karin Quarry, you can travel to the Hernand river (or any other location with birds) to complete it.
Start with partridges: Partridges are flightless and can be chased down on foot. They are the easiest birds to catch and should be your priority.
Crouch-approach ducks: Ducks will fly away if startled, so crouch behind them and get as close as possible before rushing in with the interact button held down.
Do not use weapons: You need to carry the birds alive, not kill them. Attacking a bird with a weapon defeats it, which does not count toward the challenge.
Work along the shoreline: Birds tend to cluster near water. Follow the riverbank east of Hernand to find groups of ducks and partridges close together.
Be patient: If a duck flies away, wait for it to land again or move to the next one. There are enough birds in the recommended area that losing one is not a problem.
Completing the Feather of the Earth challenge unseals the artifact and grants either an Abyss Artifact (used as skill points in the Skill Tree), a Faded Abyss Artifact (used to reset skill points), or an Abyss Gear (a modifier that can be slotted into weapons and armor). The specific reward type depends on the artifact.
This challenge is tracked in the Journal under the White Crow's Gaze / Hunting tab. All Sealed Abyss Artifact challenges contribute toward the Platinum trophy and 1000 Gamerscore achievement.
