Elemental Charged Shot is a Health Skill Tree ability available to Kliff and Damiane. It allows you to imbue your Charged Shot with an element, adding elemental damage and potential status effects to your ranged attacks. This is the second skill in the Imbue Element progression chain.

Upgrade Imbue Element to Level 2 for each character separately. You must first acquire at least one element (Flame, Frost, Lightning, or Wind) by completing Abyss Challenges at elemental Spires before the Imbue Element skill becomes available. These elements are progression-locked and typically unlock around the middle of Chapter 4.

The element applied depends on which elemental imbuement you have active. Elements are selected through the Axiom Bracelet's radial menu and can be swapped mid-combat:

The fire element has a unique advantage when used with Elemental Charged Shot. Unlike other Imbue Element applications that require manual activation (for example, fire-imbued Turning Slash needs LT+RT), the fire imbue on Charged Shot is applied automatically. Simply hold R2 to charge your bow and the shot is fire-imbued as long as you have spirit remaining. There is no additional button press required.
This auto-application makes fire-imbued Charged Shot the most convenient elemental ranged attack in the game. During intense boss fights where input timing is critical, not having to press an extra button to activate fire imbue means you can focus entirely on positioning and release timing.
The fire element is unlocked at the Spire of Ringing Truth (located north towards Pelune). You must defeat the ancient boss at the Spire, then solve a series of abyss riddles to receive the Flame element for your Axiom Bracelet. Once unlocked and equipped, fire imbue becomes available for all Imbue Element skills including Elemental Charged Shot.
When fire-imbued Charged Shot connects, it can trigger Volcanic Eruption (from Scorchflame Plate Gloves) and Flames of Judgment (from Eclipse Solace Plate Gloves). Volcanic Eruption creates volcanic explosions on fire-imbued hits, while Flames of Judgment adds a second explosive effect. When both are equipped simultaneously, a single fire-imbued charged shot produces two overlapping AoE explosions, turning what would be a single-target ranged attack into a devastating area-of-effect nuke.
The Scorchflame Plate Gloves can be found inside a waterfall south of the Hernand area (see the Volcanic Eruption article for the full route). The Eclipse Solace Plate Gloves with Flames of Judgment are obtained by completing Chapter 8's final fight. Combining both glove effects is the cornerstone of fire-imbued one-shot builds.
At 30 Spirit, Elemental Charged Shot costs three times more than a regular Charged Shot (10 Spirit). Use the elemental version selectively when you need the bonus damage or status effect, and fall back to the standard Charged Shot for routine ranged pokes.
Combine with Focused Charged Shot for extremely powerful ranged burst combos with elemental effects. Enter Focus to slow time, charge the shot with an element, and release for a single devastating hit.
Frost-imbued Charged Shots are excellent for freezing fast-moving enemies at range, giving you time to close the gap for melee follow-ups. Flame is better for sustained damage against tanky bosses, while Lightning provides stagger potential.
Both Kliff and Damiane can use Elemental Charged Shot, making elemental ranged attacks available across multiple playstyles. Kliff fires an elemental arrow while Damiane fires an elemental bullet.
