Aspirants are one of the NPC archetypes that sit inside the broader Followers of Solomon profession group, alongside pilgrims, novice priests, and nuns. They are junior members of the Solomonic clergy still working toward formal ordination, which explains why they travel between shrines and temple settlements rather than holding a fixed vendor post in a major town. You encounter them in pilgrim parties on the main roads and at the outer pews of Solomonic temples across Pywel.
Within the NPC Trust System, every Follower of Solomon shares the same gift table. Aspirants will accept:
Herbal tea as their signature gift. This is the primary tool for raising aspirant trust quickly.
Plus whatever their race adds on top. Human aspirants take coin pouches for +5, troll aspirants take hides for +10, and so on (see the race reference in the NPC Trust System article).
Like every trust-system NPC, an aspirant will give +5 for a daily greeting and +50 for completing their side quest (if they have one). A named aspirant with an errand is a fast source of bulk trust; an unnamed aspirant requires the full gift grind.
At max trust (100), an aspirant can hand over one of two categories of gift. The first is priest weapons, the melee and staff-type equipment associated with the Solomonic clergy. The second, and the reason most players bother to farm aspirants, is Solomon's Holy Water. This is a unique item with consecrated-water-type effects that only drops from the Followers of Solomon trust chain, which makes every aspirant a potential source.
Aspirants are cheap to farm because herbal tea is easy to brew or purchase and stacks well. Wear the Rabbit Leather Mask for +2 trust gain per action, and stack any abyss gear with a trust-gain affix for late-run farms. Because Solomon's Holy Water is one of the rarer consumables in Pywel, several playthroughs treat every encountered aspirant as a potential target and mark their location on the map for a dedicated farming loop later.
