Revision 6

Overview

Grand Theft Auto VI features the most extensive collection of side activities in the series to date. Over 30 distinct activities have been confirmed through official trailers, the Rockstar Games website, promotional screenshots, and the authenticated September 2022 developer build leak. These range from traditional GTA staples like strip clubs and store robberies to brand-new additions like mini golf, kayaking, and an in-game social media system inspired by TikTok.

The activities are spread across the state of Leonida, with outdoor pursuits concentrated around Mount Kalaga National Park and the Grassrivers, water sports along the Leonida Keys coast, and urban entertainment centered in Vice City.

Outdoor and Nature

Fishing

Fishing is confirmed on the official Rockstar website as an activity available at Mount Kalaga National Park. An official screenshot shows Jason holding a fishing rod on a boat in broad daylight on calm waters. Trailer 2 also shows Jason and Cal Hampton fishing together from a riverbank. Players can fish from boats, kayaks, docks, and shorelines. The 2022 developer leak referenced bait shops in the game world. Specific mechanics like tackle types and a fish species catalog have not been detailed by Rockstar.

Hunting

Hunting is confirmed on the official Rockstar website for the Mount Kalaga area. The national park's forests and canyon terrain provide the setting. Official screenshots show deer herds being stalked by Florida panthers, indicating an active predator-prey ecosystem. The POACH agency (Protection of Animals and Controlled Hunting) patrols the Grassrivers region and will pursue players who engage in illegal poaching. Trailer 1 shows what appear to be alligators tied to the back of a pickup truck with POACH vehicles in pursuit.

Scuba Diving

Scuba diving and underwater exploration are confirmed in the Leonida Keys region. An official Rockstar screenshot shows two divers exploring underwater environments. Rockstar's description of the Keys specifically mentions "some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in all of America." Confirmed scuba equipment includes a mask, oxygen tank, and flippers, allowing deeper dives and extended underwater time compared to standard swimming. Underwater environments include coral reefs, sea turtles, eels, and various fish species.

Kayaking

Kayaking is a brand-new activity for the GTA franchise. Official screenshots show characters paddling kayaks upstream on a green-hued river at Mount Kalaga National Park. A flood gauge is visible nearby, which some community analyses interpret as a hint at dynamic water level changes. The kayak functions as a new rideable vehicle type.

Sports and Fitness

Gym and Weightlifting

Working out is confirmed through multiple trailer scenes. Jason is shown bench pressing 265 lbs (roughly 120 kg) at a beachside outdoor gym in Trailer 2. Lucia is shown hitting a punching bag in a training facility. The gym system echoes the fitness stat mechanic from GTA: San Andreas, where working out directly shaped the player character's physique, though Rockstar has not confirmed whether a similar stat-building system returns.

MMA and Cage Fighting

In Trailer 2, Lucia is shown throwing a high kick at an opponent wearing red shorts inside a steel cage. This confirms some form of MMA-style cage fighting as either a side activity or story mission. The scene closely parallels the L.C. Cage Fighters activity from GTA IV's The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC. Lucia's backstory (her father taught her to fight from a young age) supports cage fighting as a character-relevant activity. Separate scenes show Lucia in boxing and training sequences.

Mini Golf

Mini golf is a new addition to the GTA franchise. An official Rockstar screenshot shows Cal Hampton posing on a miniature golf course decorated with alligator-themed props, waterfalls, and artificial rock structures. The course draws real-world inspiration from Congo River Golf in Orlando, Florida. The GTA Wiki has documented the course based on this official screenshot evidence.

Basketball

Basketball courts are visible in Trailer 2. An overhead aerial shot shows a rooftop court in Vice City with approximately five NPCs, one of whom is shooting free throws. A basketball hoop is also attached to Jason's house. The sport returns from GTA: San Andreas, which featured playable streetball.

Tennis

Tennis courts are visible in trailer footage and official screenshots. The sport returns from GTA V, which featured a fully playable tennis mini-game.

Beach Football

Beach American football was spotted by fans doing frame-by-frame analysis of Trailer 2 footage. NPCs are shown playing on a beach setting. This appears to be a new beach-specific activity.

Pool and Billiards

Jason is shown playing pool with Cal in a bar setting in Trailer 2. Pool tables are visible in multiple bar interiors. The activity returns from GTA IV, which featured a fully playable billiards mini-game.

Racing and Vehicle Activities

Gellhorn International Raceway

A confirmed motorsport racing facility located in Port Gellhorn, Kelly County. The raceway features a main road course and a drag strip with grandstands. The layout draws real-world inspiration from Sebring International Raceway in Florida, while the drag strip is modeled after Gainesville Raceway. Racing events at this venue are strongly implied by the facility's presence and design.

Dirt Bike Racing

Trail riders and dirt bikes are visible in trailers blazing through Mount Kalaga's terrain. A Weazel News ticker in Trailer 1 references "dirt-bike dirt-bags," confirming off-road riding as an activity in the national park region. Competitive time trials and terrain challenges are implied by the presence of organized rider groups.

Thrillbilly Mud Club

The Thrillbilly Mud Club appears in Trailer 1 as a confirmed off-road recreation park. The facility is an open, muddy off-road course near a forest with a central wooden viewing platform. Vehicles present in the scene include ATVs, swamp buggies, and monster trucks on lifted wheels. The club is directly based on Redneck Mud Park, a real Florida off-road recreation facility. Mudding challenges and off-road racing activities are implied.

Street Racing and Car Meets

Street racing is confirmed through a top-down view of a street race meetup visible in trailer footage. Car meets and lowrider shows appear in Trailer 1, with a lineup of customized lowriders (including an Albany Buccaneer Custom, Vapid Chino, and Schyster PMP 700) pulling up to a meet at the Stockyard area. These scenes confirm that the car culture social scene is a significant part of Vice City life.

Nightlife and Entertainment

Nightclubs and Dancing

Jason and Lucia are shown dancing at a nightclub called NINE 1 NINE in Trailer 2. The club is a reference to the real-world E11EVEN nightclub in Downtown Miami. A second scene shows a DJ mixing for a crowded dance floor. Dancing is confirmed as an interactive activity in club environments.

Strip Clubs

Strip clubs return from previous entries. Boobie Ike's Jack of Hearts club is a named location in Vice City that appears in both trailers. A separate scene shows a club with a "Make It Rain Monday" banner, dancers on stage, and patrons throwing cash. One club is speculated to be the returning Pole Position Club from the original GTA: Vice City.

Bars and Drinking

Multiple trailer scenes show Jason and his associates drinking at bars and during social gatherings. Rooftop bar locations are visible in Vice City. A specific sequence shows the group chugging beers in an outdoor setting. Jason is also shown leaving a bodega carrying a six-pack.

Ferris Wheel

A large ferris wheel is visible in Trailer 2 near central Vice City, adjacent to a pier. It is modeled after the Skyviews Miami Observation Wheel at Bayside Marketplace. Whether the ferris wheel is rideable as an interactive activity has not been explicitly confirmed, but it is a confirmed landmark.

Watching TV

Jason is shown on his couch watching television in Trailer 2. The TV displays the Phil's Ammu-Nation commercial. A DualShock-style controller and gaming console are visible on the table nearby, hinting at in-game video game playing as a meta activity, though this has not been explicitly confirmed as interactive.

Water Activities

Jet Skiing

Jason and Lucia are shown riding a two-person jet ski (Speedophile Seashark) together in Trailer 2. A jet ski is also shown being towed on a trailer behind a Bravado Bison pickup truck at the 0:35 mark of Trailer 2, demonstrating the towing mechanic.

Boating

Various watercraft are available for recreational use across Leonida's coastline and waterways. Airboats (fan boats) are new to the franchise and designed for the Grassrivers swamp region. Speedboats, yachts, dive boats, and dinghies have all been spotted in trailer footage. The opening shot of Trailer 1 shows a Vapid Bobcat XL towing a recreational bow rider motorboat on a trailer.

Boat Workshop

Trailer 2 includes a shot inside a boat workshop with boats being serviced, implying that players can customize and modify watercraft in addition to road vehicles.

Economy and Shopping

Store Robberies

Store robberies are confirmed as returning interactive gameplay. In the opening of Trailer 2, Jason is shown holding up a store clerk at gunpoint. Trailer 1 shows Jason and Lucia robbing Uncle Jack's Liquor and a gas station. The 2022 developer build included zip-tie hostage mechanics and human shield systems for robbery scenarios.

Phil's Ammu-Nation

Phil's Ammu-Nation is the confirmed gun store, appearing in Trailer 2 as an in-game commercial. Phil, the proprietor, is inspired by Phil Cassidy from GTA: Vice City. He is shown firing an M249 SAW from his store's rooftop. See Weapons and Combat for the full weapons list.

Ride Out Customs

Ride Out Customs is the confirmed vehicle modification shop, serving as the Leonida equivalent of Los Santos Customs from GTA V. The name appears on a sticker on a custom truck in Trailer 1. Confirmed customization categories from the 2022 build include liveries, body mods, engine, brakes, lights, suspension, transmission, wheels, windows, and turbo tuning.

Clothing Stores

Clothing shopping is confirmed through Trailer 2 footage showing branded clothing and outfit changes. The GTA-universe Eris sportswear brand is visible on character clothing. Wardrobe customization was a staple of GTA V and is confirmed to return.

Social Media and Phone

In-Game Social Media

Both trailers feature extensive in-game social media footage styled as user-generated content. Short-form videos with captions, likes, and comments are displayed on platforms parodying TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. These social media posts serve as a framing device throughout Trailer 1's opening sequence. This represents a major evolution of GTA V's Lifeinvader and Bleeter social networks into a system that mirrors how real-world social media shapes public narratives.

Phone Camera

Numerous scenes in both trailers are framed as smartphone video recordings, shot in vertical format with social media watermarks. This strongly implies a functional in-game phone camera. Several gaming outlets noted that GTA VI appears to lean heavily into photography and content creation as gameplay features.

Other Activities

Community Service

At the 1:27 mark of Trailer 1, Lucia is shown in a high-visibility community service vest picking up litter. This is tied to her ankle bracelet and post-prison parole conditions at the game's opening. Whether this is a repeatable side activity or purely a story-scripted sequence is unclear. The reflective strips on her vest are rendered with detailed retro-reflective material, suggesting Rockstar put notable art effort into this sequence.
