Vehicles
A comprehensive guide to all confirmed vehicles in Grand Theft Auto VI, covering cars, motorcycles, boats, aircraft, and emergency vehicles across the state of Leonida. Includes confirmed vehicle names, manufacturers, customization details, and new mechanics like the immobilizer bypass and towing system.
Overview
Grand Theft Auto VI features over 200 confirmed vehicles spanning cars, motorcycles, boats, aircraft, and several new categories. The vehicle roster draws on the franchise's tradition of fictional manufacturers parodying real-world brands, with new additions tailored to the Leonida setting. More than 200 distinct vehicles have been visually identified from official trailers and screenshots, with the total expected to exceed 300 by launch. GTA V shipped with roughly 257 vehicles at launch and eventually grew to over 790 through GTA Online updates.
Vehicle information comes from two primary sources: the official trailers released in December 2023 (Trailer 1) and May 2025 (Trailer 2) along with official Rockstar screenshots, and the authenticated September 2022 developer build leak. The leak was confirmed genuine by Rockstar through legal action, though the build was unfinished and some vehicles may have changed.
Protagonist Vehicles
Two vehicles are prominently associated with the protagonists and receive the most screen time across trailers and promotional materials.

Vehicle Customization
Ride Out Customs is the confirmed modification shop in GTA VI, serving as the Leonida equivalent of Los Santos Customs from GTA V. It has been identified in official materials. Confirmed customization categories from the 2022 developer build include liveries, car body modifications, engine upgrades, brakes, lights, suspension, transmission, wheels, windows, and turbo tuning.
Custom stickers and insignias have also been confirmed. The Declasse Tulip is shown with custom stickers in Trailer 1, and the Albany Buccaneer Custom appears with a new pinstripe livery at the Stockyard car meet. The Pfister Comet S2 Cabrio confirms that functioning convertible tops are in the game.
Vehicle Interiors and Driving
Both third-person and first-person driving views are available, continuing the option introduced in GTA V's next-gen release. Vehicle interiors are significantly more detailed than any previous GTA title. Working speedometers, gauges, and instrument panels are fully modeled. Rearview mirrors and side mirrors display accurate real-time reflections of the environment behind the vehicle.
The 2022 developer build also showed interactive gas pedal, brake pedal, and clutch pedal animations, along with adjustable steering wheel position, seat position, seat recline, sun visor, and armrest.
Immobilizer Bypass
A new mechanic called the immobilizer bypass has been confirmed through trailer footage and official materials. When stealing certain vehicles, particularly newer or luxury models, players must complete a brief bypass sequence to start the engine. This adds a layer of realism compared to the instant hotwiring of previous GTA games. Older or lower-end vehicles may not have immobilizers and can be stolen immediately.
Weapon Storage
Vehicles function as mobile armories in GTA VI. The game limits what players can carry on their person to two rifles and two pistols (see Weapons and Combat), with additional weapons stored in vehicle trunks. This creates a strategic incentive to keep a vehicle nearby during missions. A "loot/examine vehicle" prompt was visible in the 2022 developer build. Some inventory items are marked "Shared," indicating that Jason and Lucia share certain resources stored in vehicles.
Towing
Vehicle towing is confirmed through multiple trailer scenes. The opening shot of Trailer 1 shows a Vapid Bobcat XL towing a boat trailer with a bow rider motorboat. In Trailer 2, a Bravado Bison tows a jet ski trailer. Players can attach boats, trailers, and other towable objects via tow hitches. This mechanic existed in a limited form in GTA V but appears expanded.
Vehicle Damage
Trailer footage shows realistic, localized vehicle deformation. A large dent on the Declasse Tulip's rear door panel is clearly visible in Trailer 1. Community analysis suggests Rockstar is returning closer to the realistic deformation model of GTA IV, which used dynamic crumpling, after GTA V simplified damage into pre-defined patterns. Rockstar has not made a specific statement about the damage engine.
