Emily Pope is the acting Director of the Federal Bureau of Control in Control Resonant and the narrating voice of the game’s Paranatural Manhattan Trailer. She holds the agency’s top job while Jesse Faden, the Director on paper, is missing, and she works directly with Dylan Faden through the operation in Manhattan. She is a returning character, and her history before Resonant is out of scope for this page. What follows is only what Resonant itself has confirmed.
This page draws on first-party material and coverage published up to September 27, 2026, three days after the game's release. It covers what Resonant itself establishes about Pope and does not yet cover the story beyond the opening.

Acting Director
Resonant opens with the Bureau in crisis. The lockdown at the Oldest House has failed, paranatural forces that were meant to stay sealed inside the building have spilled into the streets, and the Director who was chosen at the close of the first game is missing. Pope is the figure holding the office while that is true.
Material published before launch described her as the agency figure steering the Manhattan operation rather than as a caretaker signature on paperwork. She works closely with Dylan in the field, which places her on the command side of the same operation that Zoe De Vera runs from the handler side. Pre-release material did not state how the two roles relate to each other.
Reviews of the finished game were published on September 18, 2026. One of them describes Pope as the person Dylan confides in about Jesse, and frames that relationship as one of the things that keeps his search from being a lonely one. That reading comes from a single review and has not been stated in first-party material, so it is recorded here as reported.
The released game puts Pope on screen rather than only on the radio. Guides to the opening hours describe scenes with Zoe and Pope inside the Oldest House at the start of the main quest Welcome to Manhattan, and a later meeting with Pope at the FBC Field Office in Central. One of the game's visible achievements, "Budding Analyst", asks the player to "Help Pope finish her research." The quest behind it is not described on this page to avoid spoilers; the full achievement list is on Trophies and Achievements.
Pre-release material did not reveal how she came to hold the post, whether the appointment is formal, temporary or contested, or who placed her in it. This page does not yet cover the story beyond the opening.
The Voice of the Trailer
The Paranatural Manhattan Trailer premiered at Summer Game Fest on June 5, 2026 and is narrated by Pope in her capacity as acting director of the Bureau. That makes her the voice the marketing uses to frame the borough’s condition, which is a notable choice for a character who is not the protagonist and does not hold the camera. It was also the clearest confirmed instance of her voice in pre-release material.
A separate story trailer published in early June 2026 confirmed that named Bureau personnel from the first game return in Resonant, and Pope was among them. That confirmation is the point from which her presence in this game is established; everything earlier belongs to a different game.
Voice and Performance
Antonia Bernath plays Emily Pope. The credit was confirmed in the fifth and final development diary, published on September 10, 2026, which introduced the game’s cast. Remedy attached an explicit spoiler warning to that diary, so character detail taken from it should be handled with that in mind.
As of September 27, 2026, three days after launch, the official site still carries character profiles for three figures only: Dylan, Jesse and Zoe. It has no official character bio or portrait of Emily Pope.
October Dialogue Fix
Update 1.4.0, released October 1, 2026, fixed Pope's missing dialogue after reloading during Enemy of My Enemy.
What This Page Does Not Cover
Emily Pope appears in Control (2019) and has a substantial history in that game. None of it is covered here. The wiki article on this site is for Control Resonant only, so her earlier position inside the Bureau, her prior career, the scenes she appears in, the people she worked with, and anything she says or does in the first game are out of scope for this article.
Resonant’s own material establishes two things about her: she is the Bureau’s acting Director during the Manhattan crisis, and she narrates the Paranatural Manhattan Trailer. This page holds to that boundary. Remedy also published a catch-up recap of the first game on September 11, 2026, but a recap of prior events is first-game material and is not treated here as Resonant content.
Unconfirmed Details
The following were not covered by first-party material before release and have not yet been checked against the released game:
How much of the campaign she appears in, beyond the early scenes described above.
Whether her position as acting Director is formal, temporary, or contested, and who or what placed her in it.
Her relationship to Zoe De Vera and to the rest of the Bureau command structure during the crisis.
Where she is based for most of the operation.
Whether she has any direct role in Dylan's deployment orders, or works through the handler chain.
Whether an official character profile or portrait is published for her.
This page will be updated as more is revealed.
