Raise Budclaw to level 21, defeat Alpha Geoclaw, and use an individual whose personality includes Tenacious (T). The Geoclaw branch costs three Freeze Stones. Keep the required personality when preparing the evolution.
Look underground in northwestern Nimbus Fields. Near the river group containing Pranky and Glacy, Twine with a tunneling Aniimo such as Budclaw to enter the cave. Follow Alpha Encounters and Boss Cues for the Branch cave unlock and encounter preparation.

Equip Icy Gravel Dance and Frost Slam, with Freezing Claws as the ultimate. Icy Gravel Dance lays down an advancing Ice storm; Frost Slam adds frontal damage and a five-second Ice wall. Ice Spikes is another option that can be used while tunneling, freezes for one second, then brings Geoclaw forward out of the ground.
Set up Ice Debuff before committing the main BREAK sequence, then keep applying it with Icy Gravel Dance and basic attacks. Frostbite Sunder requires more than five stacks for its 35% extra BREAK. Ice Debuff reduces the corresponding elemental resistance by 1% per stack, up to 20 stacks.
A Glynsera partner can begin the setup with Ice Strikes before Geoclaw takes over. Return to the damage dealer during the opening after BREAK. Avoid spending the accumulated debuffs too early when preparing a later stack-consuming attack.
Ice Skills and Core Skill Contracts cover the exact move and contract effects. Held Items explains Gargantuan Horn; Homeland job grades below are separate from the creature's BREAK or Ice combat attributes.
