Not all of AION 2's PvP happens in Reshanta. A separate layer of modes runs on a schedule or a queue, and most of them normalise your stats so that the fight is about play rather than about gear.
Battlefield
Battlefield is the objective mode, and it is the one the global build has been shown with.
Element | Detail |
|---|---|
Size | Ten against ten, raised from eight against eight on July 1, 2026 |
Stats | Equalised inside. Mastery skills are forced to level 20 and Stigma skills to level 25, and you cannot learn new skills while inside. |
Objectives | Point capture. The Battlefield: Siege variant added with Chapter 1 has each side contest three zones for points, with all teams starting under identical conditions and a ten-minute window. |
Schedule | Runs daily on a set schedule |
Currency | Abyss Points and medals |
The August 12, 2026 patch split matching into solo and five-player queues only, so a group of two or three cannot queue as a group, and added removal for inactive players.
The map rotated during Season 3: the Cradle of Ode Shards map was replaced by a sandstorm-temple map.
Arena
Arena is the small-scale ladder and it is ground-only; flight is off. It runs a solo bracket and a co-op bracket, and the co-op bracket moved from four against four to five against five on July 1, 2026 in line with the party-size change.
Separate leaderboards are kept for the solo and co-op ladders.
Abyss Rift Zone
Added June 17, 2026, the Abyss Rift Zone is a scheduled faction-versus-faction event fought over field bosses on a large battlefield. It opens at regular intervals, runs on a server basis, and taking part does not consume your weekly Abyss time.
A July 15, 2026 rework moved it to faction-integrated matching. Rewards include Abyss Points, Abyss commendation medals and a set of Abyss boss paintings. The September 9, 2026 patch raised boss stats, cut the total number of bosses, raised the per-boss reward bundle, and gave eight boss types a 25-second invulnerability window below an HP threshold, usable up to twice per fight.
Spacetime Rift: Domination
Domination is the large-scale open-map mode, fought over strongholds in Verteron and Altgard rather than in an instance. It launched on the Korean and Taiwanese build on September 2, 2026.
Element | Detail |
|---|---|
Schedule | Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 20:00 and 23:00 |
Rotation | Attacker and defender roles swap weekly between the two territories |
Entry | Level 50, item level 4,500, Combat Power 500,000, plus the stronghold-clearing achievement for both territories |
Objective | Strongholds fall when all three of their Monoliths are destroyed. The attackers win by taking the majority of the opened group. |
Mode | A dedicated PvP state switches on after the preparation window, restricting combat to other participants |
Respawn | A dedicated Kisk works for the attacking side only |
The mode was retuned a week after launch: the battle length was cut, the number of strongholds per group dropped, flight-power cost while participating was halved, repeat kills on the same target were limited, and assist contribution was reduced. Published participant counts have varied between announcements, so this page does not state one.
Outland
Outland is a hundred-player battle royale mode: everyone enters on equal terms, farms equipment and items on the map, fights, and is paid by survival rank. It was announced as Chapter 1 content on the Korean and Taiwanese build.
Global Availability
The global build has been shown with a ten-versus-ten objective battleground with stat normalisation and with a PvP flag toggle available everywhere except the Abyss, which is faction-versus-faction by default. Everything else above is Korean and Taiwanese live-build state, and NCsoft has not published which modes ship at the global launch.
