Battlefield: Siege is the instanced team battlefield that arrived with the Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow update on July 1, 2026 on the Korean and Taiwanese service. NCsoft's English announcement describes it as a mode in which players capture a total of three zones to earn points, with every team starting under identical conditions. NCsoft's first global developer livestream in August 2026 announced a ten-against-ten battleground mode for the global launch, with players' skill levels equalised; as of October 7, 2026, NCsoft has not published its global schedule or rewards.
The Korean patch note for July 1 describes the same change in its own terms: the battlefield became ten against ten, every participant's stats are equalised, and a new battlefield type replaced the previous map. The rest of this page follows the Korean service's rules.
Rules
Element | Detail |
|---|---|
Teams | Ten against ten (since July 1, 2026) |
Objective | Capture and hold three zones to earn points |
Stats | Equal for every participant. Mastery skills are fixed at level 20 and Stigma skills at level 25, and new skills cannot be learned inside. Some base stats inside were adjusted on July 8, 2026. |
Healing | Since August 12, 2026 the reduced healing and reduced potion recovery that used to be applied as entry debuffs are part of the battlefield's base stats. Potion recovery is unchanged, but healing received is 30% lower than before. |
Spawn protection | Players at their own team's resurrection point were made invincible on July 15, 2026. On August 12 this became a defense boost strong enough that almost no damage gets through, with clearer visuals. |
Inactivity | Players who stay out of combat too long are removed (August 12, 2026); the criteria were relaxed on August 19 |
Sandstorm Temple Match Rules
The map that arrived with Battlefield: Siege is Sandstorm Temple (모래바람 사원; literal translation), the battlefield type added on July 1, 2026 with three capture points. The official guidebook, updated August 13, 2026, gives its rules:
Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
Players | 20 per match: two teams of ten, Red and Blue |
Scoring | Holding a capture point earns points every second. The first team to 1,500 points wins. |
Time | Ten minutes. A tie at ten minutes goes to overtime of up to two minutes, in which the first team to take the lead wins. |
Draws | If both teams reach 1,500 at the same moment, or the score is still tied when overtime ends, the match is a draw |
Respawn | Ten seconds after death at the team's resurrection point, with no limit on revivals |
Capture Points
Point | Position | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Zikel base (지켈 거점) | West, nearer the Red team | Standard capture time and score |
Hugo Mercenary base (휴고용병단 거점) | Centre | Takes longer to capture than the other two but pays more points per second |
Kaisinel base (카이시넬 거점) | East, nearer the Blue team | Standard capture time and score |
A point is captured by filling its capture gauge. When only one team stands on it, that team's gauge rises, faster with more players up to a maximum at four. When nobody is there, or both teams are contesting it, the gauge drifts slowly back to neutral. A captured point stays captured until only the other team remains on it; then it is released and the other team starts capturing. The status board shows each point's state, gauge and points per second, plus your team, the time left, the score and whether a relic has appeared.
Map Features
A Union of Fate (운명의 결합체; literal translation) spawns at random on one of two floating islands reached by updraft and wind path. Interacting with it grants a bomb: a powerful damage bomb, a mushroom transformation bomb that turns enemies in the area into mushrooms for eight seconds, or an invincibility bomb that protects allies in the area for eight seconds. The throw is readied with F or the bomb icon and aimed with the mouse on PC or by moving the screen on mobile.
At intervals a sandstorm forms around the central Hugo Mercenary base. It tracks and pulls in nearby players and deals heavy damage.
Battlefield Rules That Apply to Every Map
Queue alone or as a five-player group; solo players are matched with solo players and groups of five with groups of five.
Rewards, mainly merit medals and Abyss Points, are paid for up to three wins a week, and a player who has already collected the maximum cannot queue as a party.
The battlefield is only open from 11 AM to 2 PM and from 8 PM to 10 PM every day.
Healing received is reduced, and a player who stays out of combat too long is removed from the match.
Schedule
Since April 8, 2026 the battlefield opens only at set times on the Korean service: daily from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 20:00 to 22:00 Korean time. No later change to those hours appears in the Korean patch notes through October 7, 2026, and the guidebook gives the same hours.
Queues
Since August 12, 2026 the battlefield queues only solo players or full five-player groups. Five-player groups are matched against five-player groups and solo players against solo players, with a class-balance correction between the two teams.
Teams are formed regardless of faction (since August 12, 2026), so Elyos and Asmodians can play on the same side.
A player who has already earned the maximum number of weekly win rewards cannot queue as a party (since April 8, 2026).
The August 19, 2026 patch fixed matching failing after a cross-server party finished a battle.
