Altgard is the Asmodian home territory, the region on the Asmodae side of the Bulwark where Asmodian characters begin. It is the mirror of Verteron in structure and the darker of the two in tone: a Balaur warship came down in the north of it and the ground has not recovered.
Completing Altgard's hero quest line spawns a spatial transfer portal to Morheim, gated on level, item level and combat power.

Location | What it is |
|---|---|
Safe Haven | A human settlement in northern Altgard that used to be where criminals and fugitives washed up. After the Dredgion came down it became, unexpectedly, the area spared from Balaur attacks. |
Dredgion Crash Site | The canyon where the Fafnir Legion's Dredgion hit. The impact scorched the land and the leaking Drakana corrupted the soil, leaving a hazardous zone cut off from everything around it. |
Sanctum Outpost | Once an Archon sanctuary built around Zikel's Sanctum. It fell in the fighting against Fafnir and is now a Balaur stronghold, where Draconute Warriors capture Daevas and turn them into Fafnites. |
Moslan Forest | A forest between northern Altgard and the Basfelt Ruins, once a sanctuary for the Elim and the Nornir. The High Priest Hystan burned it, and only wounded Elim remain. |
Nornir Assembly | A settlement built by Nornir refugees from Moslan Forest, shielded by their own magic and led by Urd of the Three Sisters of Fate. |
Altgard runs the same field layer as the other territories: Sealed Dungeons, Strongholds and Monoliths, field bosses and the travel network, all covered by the Daeva Express batch-completion system on the Korean and Taiwanese build.
The area descriptions below summarise the game's own location text. Four areas have no English name in any NCsoft announcement or in the game data seen so far and are given in Korean; of the English area names, only Basfelt Ruins, Purifying Forest, Fafnite Deposit and Impetusium Square have appeared in an NCsoft global service notice so far, so treat the others as provisional.
Area | What is there | |
|---|---|---|
Dredgion Crash Site | Where the Fafnir Legion's Dredgion came down. Contaminants leaking from the wreck mutated a giant insectoid, the Mutant Valka, which nests nearby. | Melted Danar |
이름없는 묘지 (no English name yet) | A cemetery area. | Black Warrior Aed |
성소 감시 초소 (no English name yet) | A watch post area. | Faithful Rajit, Berserker Vargor |
Moslan Forest | A forest that has burned down. The Nornir sealed the body of High Priest Hystan here, and the Blades hunt the surviving Nornir from an outpost in the forest. | Blood Warrior Lannar, Predator Garsan |
우르툼헤임 (no English name yet) | No location text in the game data seen so far. | Deceiver Trid |
Purifying Forest | Varg packs escaped from a Lepharist research center hunt its rare animals, and the Flauke Legion that once protected it fell under Fafnite's influence. | Blue Wave Kelpina, Silent Dartan |
Dranactus | Balaur Drana cultivation, watched from an elite Balaur outpost that can reinforce by teleport. | Advisor Resana, High Overseer Nutah |
Basfelt Ruins | Behind the Basfelt Waterfall is the cave where the last of a band of Daeva hid and faded away. | Special Operations Leader Linx, Desecrator Newbold, Specter Archon Axios |
Fafnite Deposit | Named for Fafnite, which the Balaur extract from imprisoned Daeva. | Addicted Hardirun, Soul Ruler Kashapa |
그리바데 협곡 (no English name yet) | A canyon in the Gribade area; the Creion of Gribade appear in the Asmodian story. | Executioner Barthien (west), Drakan Battalion Weapon Guruta (east) |
Black Claw Village | A Mau village. Tayga, the beasts the Black Claw Mau fight with, are bred nearby, and a Balaur base extorts the villagers. | Veteran Shujakan, Visionary Karuka |
Lagta Fortress | Shares its name with the Lagta Brigade; High Commander Lagta is fought here as a field boss. | Dark Shadow Vishwada, High Commander Lagta |
Impetusium Square | Guarded by a Lagta Brigade forward base that is researching how to destroy the Blood Barrier and attacks anyone who approaches the square without permission. | Sharp Shylak |
Immortal Isle | The Asmodian counterpart of the Elyos Eternal Isle. | Immortal Gartua |
The Korean build lists 도망자 마을 (literally the fugitives' village) and Nornir Assembly as Altgard's villages, and placed its July 2026 event merchants in both. The game lists 61 Kibelisk activations in Altgard, from Safe Haven to the Impetusium cliffs, and an achievement for activating every one.
Altgard has 15 Strongholds in three Domination groups (five each at launch, four each since September 9, 2026) and a large number of Sealed Dungeons; the full Stronghold list is on Strongholds and Sealed Dungeons. The Altgard Monolith is levelled with Empyrean Trace: Altgard; see Monoliths and Empyrean Traces.
The Asmodian Hero Quests run through Altgard from level 10, from the episode Stranger in a Strange Land at Shadow Hall and Safe Haven to Encountering Zikel's Core at level 45. On the global service, Hero Quests in Basfelt Ruins, Purifying Forest, Fafnite Deposit and Impetusium Square were among those fixed in the first maintenance after Advance Access opened on September 30, 2026.
Altgard is the Asmodian half of the Spacetime Rift: Domination rotation on the Korean and Taiwanese build, defended by the Asmodian on the weeks when Verteron is not being defended by the Elyos. The entry requirements, the stronghold group layout (four strongholds per group since September 9, 2026) and the three-Monolith capture rule are the same on both sides; the full table is on Verteron.
Altgard shares its name with a region in the original AION. Everything above comes from AION 2's own material. The two games' maps are not a one-to-one carry-over, and a place from the first game should not be assumed to exist here.
World and Regions for the world structure. Morheim for the territory Altgard leads into. Verteron for the Elyos counterpart. Balaur for the force that wrecked it.
