Overview
Windows are transparent wall cutouts that let light into a building without breaking its roof status. Windrose offers 34 windowframe pieces across nine shape variants and every material tier, so each Wall run can be detailed to taste from a starter shack up to a stone estate. Windows sit in the same building menu as doors and arches.
Window Shapes

Tall wide window; estate-tier. | |
Full-height window; two walls stacked. | |
Oval/circular window for decorative flair. | |
Perfect square window variant. | |
Windowframe with twin sashes; stained-glass variant. |
Material Variants
Windowframes come in the same material tiers as walls. The frame itself takes wood or stone; the glass pane is abstract and does not require a separate material. Sample recipe: Tier 4 Windowframe = Wood x15; Max Health 1,500.
Tier | Plan Unlock |
|---|---|
Tier 1 Sticks / Leaves | Automatically unlocked |
Tier 2 Logs / Planks | |
Tier 3 Clay / Limestone | Rustic Windows and Frames (drops from Coastal Jungle POIs) |
Tier 4 Mahogany / Stained Glass | Elegant Stained Glass Doors and Windows |
Placement
Windows snap into wall slots the same way doors do. Walls with window cutouts are crafted separately; the windowframe is a piece that snaps into the cutout. Unlike doors, windows cannot be opened or closed and do not block movement (but arrows and ranged attacks pass through).
Function
Windows are purely a fitting: the frame is structural, but the glass pane is abstract and costs no extra material. A window does not block movement and cannot be opened or closed, and ranged attacks, arrows, and thrown items pass straight through the opening. That matters during a raid, because an open window face is a line of fire into a room. All windows share a 1,500 Max Health value, and the frame inherits the durability and material tier rules of the surrounding wall.
A window cutout does not count against the roof check used by craft stations: a room studded with windows still satisfies covered-station placement as long as a roof piece sits overhead. For light without a defensive gap, the smaller Narrow Window or Small Window reduce the size of the opening.
Tips
Tall Windows require a stacked pair of walls; place the top wall first, then snap the Tall Window into the combined slot.
Oval and Stained Glass windows are decoration-tier and do not provide more light in-game than standard windows, but they score higher at the Building Contest.
A building with lots of Windows still passes the roof check for craft stations as long as the roof piece itself is in place.
Stained Glass variants unlock from the same plan as Stained Glass doors: Elegant Stained Glass Doors and Windows; loot it from Foothills Points of Interest.
Narrow Windows are useful for defensive outposts because they look like arrow slits; pair with Stockades for a rustic fortress aesthetic.
