Pikeman's Cuirass is the Rare chest piece of the Pikeman's Armor set in Windrose. It is crafted at the Armor and Clothing Workshop after unlocking the Plans: Pikeman's Cuirass recipe.

Defense

Like all Rare and Uncommon armor, Pikeman's Cuirass has three crafting tiers that set its base Defense. Each tier can be upgraded several more levels at the Upgrading Station using the same recipe materials.

Crafting

Requires the craft plan Plans: Pikeman's Cuirass to be unlocked first. The Plans: Pikeman's Cuirass is sold by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at Reputation Rank 2 for 200 Piastres; the Provisioner is reached by building reputation with Smugglers of Port Royal.

Each tier unlocks a new workshop attachment: the Shoemaker's Bench at ilvl 6 and the Material Rack at ilvl 11. Both attach to the Armor and Clothing Workshop and require its Bonfire coverage to function.

Set Bonuses

Pikeman's Cuirass counts toward the Pikeman's Armor 5-piece set. Set bonuses apply globally once the stated number of pieces are equipped at the same time.

Notes

• The torso piece has the highest material cost in the set (typically 4 of the primary metal or leather for the first tier). Expect to grind that material before committing.

• Counts as one piece toward the Pikeman's Armor 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses: pairing it with a second piece from the same set is usually the minimum to get value out of the plan.

Set Pieces

The Pikeman's Armor set has five slots. Equipping more pieces from the same set unlocks the 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses listed above, so most players craft and upgrade these slots together rather than mixing armor families. The full slot list is below.

Role and Playstyle

Pikeman's Cuirass is the torso slot of a metal set tuned for two-handed melee. Although it is forged from the same Copper Ingot, Foothills Iron Ingot, and Mire Metal Ingot line as the Conquistador's Armor set, its per-piece Defense follows the lighter 100, 160, 200 line and reaches 200 at item level 11, not 300. Pikeman trades some of that raw Defense for offensive and health bonuses, so the two metal sets fill different roles.

The Pikeman's Armor 2-piece bonus raises maximum Health by 160, and the 4-piece bonus increases two-handed weapon Damage by 15%. That pairing makes the set the go-to choice for a Halberd or Greatsword build that wants both a larger health pool and higher damage on heavy swings.

The cuirass plan is available early from the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at Reputation Rank 2 for 200 Piastres. Since the torso slot has the highest material cost in the set, gather the relevant ingots in advance before crafting or upgrading at the Upgrading Station.
