Unlike most plans, which are looted, this recipe paper is stocked by a faction vendor. It is sold by the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner at faction reputation level 2.

How Recipe Papers Work

Recipe Papers are single-use unlocks. Reading one adds its listed entry to the relevant crafting station permanently for that character, with no further fee. Most are looted from chests in pirate camps, ruins, and points of interest, but a rotating few, including this one, appear in faction vendor stock. The paper is consumed when read, and the unlock is bound to the reader: each member of a shared base must find and read their own copy.

• Buy it as soon as you reach Smugglers of Port Royal reputation level 2 if you run a two-handed Strength build; the 4-piece bonus is one of the strongest melee multipliers in the game.

• Pair it with the matching Pikeman Set pieces to reach the 2-piece and 4-piece thresholds.

• Reading a second copy does nothing once the recipe is known, so a spare is best sold or traded.
