Add Plague Halberd boom scaling note and crude-vs-melee ring guidance
Major Ring of Bravery is an epic ring in Windrose. It modifies melee weapon damage when worn in an accessory slot. It is the top-tier ring in its line, carrying the strongest bonus and requiring Tumbaga Ingots and Sapphire to craft.

Melee damage is a blanket multiplier that applies to all close-range weapons regardless of damage type. Use this ring if your build swaps between swords, maces, and spears and you want a single accessory that always helps.
Crafted at the Jewelery Table. The Jewelery Table is the accessory workbench in Windrose and must be placed indoors under a roof and within range of a Bonfire to function. Building it the first time requires Wood, Foothills Iron Ingot, and Silver Ingot.

Rings in the Ring of Bravery line share the same base effect; each tier increases the magnitude. The Major Ring of Bravery sits at the Epic tier. The full line:

Windrose characters have three accessory slots: one ring slot, one necklace slot, and one miscellaneous slot. Only one ring can be worn at a time, so pick the one whose bonus best matches your primary weapon or task.
Any ring crafted at the Jewelery Table can be broken down at the Disassembly Table, returning a portion of its silver. If you swap to a different ring effect, disassembling the old one recovers some of the materials.

The Major Ring of Bravery is the correct accessory pick for the Plague Halberd, and the reason it edges out crude-damage rings is mechanical rather than statistical. The halberd's special attack at five Plague Echoes triggers a wide AoE explosion that the game classifies as melee damage even though it visually reads as a ranged shockwave. Because every melee-tagged source benefits from the +8% bonus on this ring, the boom inherits the multiplier the same way a normal swing does. Crude damage rings only boost the basic crude swing damage of the weapon and contribute nothing to the explosion or to the heal it triggers, so swapping a crude ring for the Major Ring of Bravery directly raises the boom's hit while costing only a small amount of basic-swing damage.
In V2 testing this difference was concrete: switching from no ring at all to the Major Ring of Bravery on the same Plague Halberd raised the recorded boom damage from 3,100 to 3,381, a clean roughly +9% bump that lines up with the listed +8% melee bonus once stat-rounding is accounted for. The basic swings benefit from the same multiplier, so the ring is an across-the-board improvement on a halberd build rather than a specialist trinket.
The same logic carries over to other strength-scaling melee weapons that have AoE or drain effects classified as melee damage. The Soul Eater two-handed reward weapon is the clearest second case. Its long-cooldown drain pulse ticks as melee damage on every nearby enemy, so each hit of the drain inherits the +8% along with the regular swings. The Arboris Saber benefits on basic swings as well, though its plague-tagged echo effect itself does not. For any of these weapons, the ring picks up basic-swing damage at minimum and often more depending on how their special attack is tagged.
When choosing between a Major Ring of Bravery and an equivalent-tier crude damage ring on a strength-melee build, the question is whether the weapon's defining damage source is the basic swing or a special-tagged effect. The short matrix:
Plague Halberd: pick Major Ring of Bravery. Boosts basic swings AND the five-stack AoE boom (both melee-tagged). A crude damage ring only buffs the basic swing portion.
Soul Eater: pick Major Ring of Bravery. Boosts basic swings AND the drain-pulse damage (melee-typed).
Arboris Saber: Major Ring of Bravery is the safe default for the basic swings. The plague-echo special itself is not crude either, so a crude ring is even worse here.
Generic strength-melee swords and maces: Major Ring of Bravery for builds that mix multiple weapons. A crude ring is comparable on a single dedicated crude weapon.
The Major Ring of Bravery is the default ring slot in the popular two-handed strength builds that prioritize sustained melee damage over crit stacking. It appears in the V2 Plague Halberd boarding setup as the boom multiplier, in the V3 Boarding Bomber loadout that pairs Plague Halberd with Soul Eater on the hot bar, and as the standard swap-in for any strength build that runs the Pikeman Set two-handed bonus. It also pairs naturally with the Dominating Presence talent on boarding actions, where the post-kill melee buff stacks multiplicatively with the ring's base bonus for short windows of very high melee output. For builds that revolve around critical strikes (rapier crit-killers, sniper musket loadouts) a crit-damage or pierce-damage ring beats this one, but for any non-crit melee build it is the default choice.
