How to Unlock

Crafting Hull Bracing: Standfast requires learning Plans: Standfast Hull Bracing, a Rare recipe paper bought from the Smugglers of Port Royal Provisioner once your Smugglers of Port Royal reputation reaches Level 2. The plan costs Piastre x300 and is consumed on use; one copy unlocks the recipe permanently.

Ascend to Epic

The Rare Hull Bracing: Standfast can be ascended to Epic rarity at the Shipwright's Workshop by combining the base Rare bracing with Tumbaga Ingot. The ascension keeps the Rare-tier effect and layers the Epic-only bonus on top, so the Epic bracing is strictly better once the Tumbaga cost is acceptable.

Ascend recipe: Tumbaga Ingot x7 + Hull Bracing: Standfast (Rare) x1 → Hull Bracing: Standfast (Epic) x1

Epic-only bonus: Provides additional 3 stacks of Standfast effect (for 8 stacks total at Epic).

When to Use

Standfast converts incoming damage into stacking charges you can spend across multiple hits. The 5-stack buffer at Rare tier (or 8-stack at Epic) absorbs several incoming hits each at 25% reduction for 3 seconds apiece. Best on skirmish hulls that take frequent small hits between volleys rather than one-shot burst damage. The stacks regenerate over time whether or not you are in combat.
