Applied Title Case to body headings
Aloe Vera is a vegetable crop in Starsand Island described in-game as "a popular medicinal succulent, a great helper for treating skin wounds." It becomes available once you earn the Senior Farmer certification from Graminova. Aloe Vera grows during Summer and Autumn, giving it a two-season window that covers the warmer half of the year.

Each Aloe Vera plant takes 5 days and 6 hours to mature and produces 4 aloe vera per harvest. As a Senior-tier crop, Aloe Vera sits in the mid-range of profitability at 123.8 gold per day. It does not match the output of Paddy Field powerhouses like River Lotus or Water Caltrop, but it grows on standard farmland without any specialized structures. Aloe Vera is also notable for its processing versatility: it yields a large amount of Vegetable Juice at the Separator and can be pickled at the Pickling Jar.

Aloe Vera Seeds are purchased from the Happiness Seed Shop for 390g each after you reach the Senior Farmer tier. The shop stocks Aloe Vera Seeds year-round regardless of the current season, so you can buy them during Spring or Winter and have them ready when Summer begins.
You can also produce your own Aloe Vera Seeds using the Grinder, which converts harvested Aloe Vera back into seeds. The Grinder unlocks at the Senior Farmer tier (the same tier as Aloe Vera itself), so this option is available as soon as you start growing the crop. Producing your own seeds eliminates the 390g purchase cost on every planting cycle, which significantly improves your effective gold per day.
Aloe Vera grows on regular tilled farmland. It does not require a Trellis, Paddy Field, Planting Box, or any other specialized structure. To plant Aloe Vera, till a plot of soil with your Hoe, select Aloe Vera Seeds from your inventory, and place them on the tilled tile.
Once planted, Aloe Vera takes 5 days and 6 hours (5.25 in-game days) to fully mature. You need to water it daily using your Watering Can, or set up sprinklers to automate the process. Aloe Vera grows during Summer and Autumn. If the season changes to Winter before the crop matures, it will wither and be lost.
Aloe Vera is a single-harvest crop. After you pick the 4 aloe vera, the plant is consumed and you must replant from seed. This differs from Trellis crops like Honeyvine or Star Plum that regrow after harvest.
Tip: With a 5.25-day growth cycle and a roughly 28-day season, you can fit about 5 full harvests per season. Since Aloe Vera grows in both Summer and Autumn, you have a continuous 56-day window to plant and harvest before Winter arrives.
Tip: Use Yield Fertilizer from the Fertilizer system to boost harvest quantity beyond the base yield of 4. Ripening Fertilizer can also shave hours off the 5-day 6-hour growth time.
Tip: Place Bumblebee hives near your Aloe Vera fields. Bees significantly boost crop growth speed, letting you squeeze in extra harvests during the growing window.
The base sell price for Aloe Vera is 260g per unit. Since each harvest produces 4 aloe vera, a single harvest sells for 1,040g at base quality. Higher-quality Aloe Vera sells for more. Quality is influenced by the fertilizer you use and random chance during growth.
You can sell Aloe Vera at Zerine's General Store at the prices listed below. For even higher returns, sell to the Merchant Ship when it docks at Starsand Port every Monday, as it pays 200% of the normal sell price for all items.
Selling Method | Price per Aloe Vera | Revenue per Harvest (x4) |
|---|---|---|
Base Quality (Zerine's Store) | 260g | 1,040g |
Merchant Ship (2x price) | 520g | 2,080g |
Processing Aloe Vera into Vegetable Juice or Pickled Aloe Vera can further increase their total value. See the Processing section below.
Aloe Vera is primarily a processing ingredient rather than a direct cooking ingredient. No cooking recipes call for raw Aloe Vera, but it can be converted into useful intermediate ingredients at several crafting stations.
Output | Input | Station | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
1x Aloe Vera | Produces 24 Vegetable Juice per Aloe Vera; base cooking ingredient used in soups, stews, and drinks |
Vegetable Juice is one of the base cooking ingredients in Starsand Island. Any vegetable can produce it, but Aloe Vera stands out for its high conversion rate. The 24 Vegetable Juice per unit is considerably more than what most other vegetables yield, making Aloe Vera one of the most efficient Vegetable Juice sources in the game. If you need to stockpile Vegetable Juice for cooking, running Aloe Vera through the Separator is an excellent approach.
Output | Input | Station | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Pickled Aloe Vera | 2x Aloe Vera + 2x Salt Brick | Intermediate ingredient for salads and side dishes |
Pickled Aloe Vera is an intermediate cooking ingredient used in recipes that call for pickled vegetables. The Pickling Jar requires Intermediate Farmer certification to unlock, which you will already have by the time you reach Senior Farmer and gain access to Aloe Vera. Salt Brick is found by mining salt deposits around the island.

The Grinder lets you convert harvested Aloe Vera back into Aloe Vera Seeds. Since both the Grinder and Aloe Vera unlock at the Senior Farmer tier, you can start recovering seeds from your very first harvest. This eliminates the 390g seed cost on subsequent plantings and is one of the strongest advantages of reaching Senior Farmer.
Aloe Vera sits in the mid-range of Senior Farmer profitability. It is a solid farmland earner but falls behind the tier's Paddy Field and Planting Box crops. For a full comparison across all tiers, see the Crop Profitability Rankings article.

The Senior Farmer tier offers several high-value options. Below is how Aloe Vera compares to other Senior crops.

260g | 191g | 5 days | All Seasons | 504g | 100.8 g/day |
River Lotus (136.7 g/day) and Water Caltrop (136.3 g/day) lead the Senior tier, but both require Paddy Fields. On standard farmland, Mint (130.7 g/day) and Reishi Mushroom (130.8 g/day, Planting Box required) outperform Aloe Vera. However, Aloe Vera's Summer and Autumn growing seasons fill a gap: Mint only grows in Spring and Summer, while Reishi Mushroom covers Spring and Autumn. During Autumn specifically, Aloe Vera is the second-best farmland option after River Lotus (which needs a Paddy Field).
The Merchant Ship pays 200% of normal sell price. A single Aloe Vera harvest sold to the Merchant Ship yields 2,080g (520g x 4) instead of 1,040g. After subtracting the 390g seed cost, that is 1,690g profit per harvest, or roughly 321.9 g/day. Timing your harvests to align with the ship's Monday visits can dramatically boost income during Summer and Autumn.
Like all crops in Starsand Island, Aloe Vera has an everlasting seed variant. Everlasting Aloe Vera Seeds produce a plant that regrows after every harvest without needing to replant. This eliminates both the seed cost and the time spent tilling and planting, turning Aloe Vera into a passive income source during Summer and Autumn.
There is also a rarer Immortal variant. Immortal Aloe Vera Seeds ignore seasonal restrictions entirely, letting you grow Aloe Vera year-round in any season, including Spring and Winter.
Methods for obtaining everlasting and immortal seeds include:
Mirthshroom Soup: Eating this soup grants the Creamy Seeds buff. While active, harvesting any crop has a chance to drop everlasting or immortal seeds. Stacking 5 soups maximizes the drop rate.
Eternal Blessings: A Workpedia skill available at the Senior Farmer tier. Provides a permanent passive chance to receive everlasting crops when harvesting. Can be upgraded with Starsand Points.
Treasure Chests: Found on the surface island and in the Moonlit Forest. Some chests contain everlasting or immortal seeds.
Islandpedia Rewards: Completing certain Islandpedia milestones rewards everlasting seeds.
If you dig up an everlasting or immortal crop with a pickaxe, the seed is refunded to your inventory. You never lose it, which lets you freely relocate crops as your farm layout changes.

Since Graminova loves Aloe Vera, gifting him a few each visit is a convenient way to build friendship while shopping for seeds at the Happiness Seed Shop. Marston, Matilda, and Sagewood also love it, so keeping a small stockpile for gifting is worthwhile.
Aloe Vera's 5.25-day growth time means you can fit about 5 full harvests in a 28-day season. Since it grows in both Summer and Autumn, plan your planting to start on Day 1 of Summer for maximum returns across the full two-season window.
Stock up on Aloe Vera Seeds during Winter and Spring so you are ready to plant immediately when Summer begins. The Happiness Seed Shop sells them year-round.
At the Senior tier, Mint (130.7 g/day) outperforms Aloe Vera (123.8 g/day) on farmland, but Mint only grows in Spring and Summer. During Autumn, Aloe Vera is one of your best Senior-tier farmland options.
Selling to the Merchant Ship on Monday at 200% price is the single biggest profit multiplier. Stockpile Aloe Vera in a chest and sell the entire batch when the ship arrives.
Convert surplus Aloe Vera into Vegetable Juice at the Separator. The high conversion rate (24 Vegetable Juice per unit) makes Aloe Vera one of the most efficient sources of this base cooking ingredient.
Consider using sprinklers on your Aloe Vera fields. Automating watering saves daily effort, and by the Senior tier you should have access to upgraded sprinklers that cover a wide area.
Use the Grinder to produce Aloe Vera Seeds from harvested crops instead of buying them. Since both the Grinder and Aloe Vera unlock at the Senior Farmer tier, you can start saving 390g per planting from your very first harvest.
Aloe Vera pairs well with other Senior crops in a diversified farm. Grow River Lotus or Water Caltrop in your Paddy Fields, Reishi Mushroom in Planting Boxes, and fill the rest of your standard farmland with Aloe Vera and Mint.
