Overview
Starsand Island has 75 Steam achievements (33 on Xbox, consolidated). Every achievement displays a cryptic in-game clue rather than a direct description, so players need to decode what each one requires. Achievements span profession progression, land ownership, social relationships, pet adoption, fashion collecting, vehicle unlocking, and several special milestones. This guide lists every achievement with its actual unlock method.
The game is in Early Access, so achievement requirements and availability may change with future updates. Some late-game achievements (particularly Soaring High and Offshore Living) have extremely low completion rates, suggesting they require extensive play or may be partially gated by content still being added.

Starsand Racer | There's nothing I can't drive. | Purchase and drive a car |
Special Achievements
These three achievements require significant late-game progression and are among the rarest in the game.
Achievement | Clue | How to Unlock |
|---|---|---|
Legendary Friend | Hi, everyone. This is my rideable friend. | Obtain the Luna Deer mount by completing the Moonlit Forest dungeon and defeating the Ruin Guard boss |
Soaring High | Its wings spread like the clouds of the sky. | Obtain a flying mount or vehicle blueprint (reportedly from Neona's 5-Heart mail) |
Offshore Living | Waking up to seagulls' calls is pure bliss. | Purchase a plot of land on Windflute Island (requires Island Legend level in the Island Life app) |
To earn Legendary Friend, you must clear the entire Moonlit Forest dungeon. Start by talking to Zephyria and crafting a Slingshot (2 Softwood + 2 Fiber). Progress through all 12 zones, defeat the Ruin Guard boss, then gather 3 Moonstone, 3 Spirit Berry, and 1 Prayer to repair the altar. The Luna Deer becomes your rideable mount.
Soaring High is the rarest achievement in the game (roughly 0.05% completion on Xbox). The flying mount blueprint is reported to come from Neona's mail after reaching 5 Hearts with her, but the drop chance appears to be very low. This may also be partially gated by early access content.
Offshore Living requires purchasing land on Windflute Island, the final area in the game. You must complete all Island Life milestones, buy plots in Hopeland, Cloudrest Lake, and Blue Beach before Windflute Island becomes available.
Rarest Achievements
Based on Xbox completion data (which consolidates some achievements), the following are the hardest achievements to earn.
Achievement | Completion Rate | Key Challenge |
|---|---|---|
Soaring High | ~0.05% | Flying mount blueprint has very low drop rate; may require extensive Neona friendship |
Offshore Living | ~0.05% | Windflute Island requires completing all Island Life milestones first |
Sandcastle Kingdom | ~0.06% | Blue Beach land requires Bright Star level in Island Life progression |
Lifelong Companions | ~0.07% | Heart Level 5 with 10 NPCs requires weeks of daily gifting and quest completion |
Fluffy Recluse | ~0.07% | Adopting 6 of 12 pets requires befriending multiple wild animals to Affection Level 3 |
Versatile Helper | ~0.13% | 100 Bulletin Board requests takes 25+ in-game days of consistent completion |
Master of All Trades | ~0.95% | Expert rank in all 5 professions requires completing every trial quest |
Tips for Achievement Hunters
Check the Bulletin Board every day and complete all available requests. This is the only way to progress toward Versatile Helper (100 requests), and the points stack up slowly.
Talk to every NPC daily, even those you are not actively gifting. Daily conversations give +5 affection each and add up over time.
Unlock all 5 professions to Apprentice rank early. This earns Jack of One Trade and starts the clock on leveling all professions for Jack of All Trades and Master of All Trades.
Buy land as soon as you can afford it. The land progression is linear (Hopeland, Cloudrest Lake, Blue Beach, Windflute Island), and later plots unlock only after earlier ones are purchased.
Spend Starsand Points in the Workpedia as soon as you earn them. The Efficiency Boost perk (Crafter tree) is one of the most impactful early unlocks, increasing yields from chopping and mining.
Focus your gifting on romanceable NPCs first since they can reach Heart Level 5. You need 10 NPCs at Heart 5 for Lifelong Companions, which is only achievable with romanceable characters.
Build bus stops as you explore new areas. Road Master requires 9 total bus stops, and having fast travel saves enormous time on daily gifting rounds.
For Fluffy Recluse, combine all three pet adoption methods: wild befriending, shop purchases (7,500 coins each from Woof & Wow), and rescue quests.
