Arcadia

Turned People Worth Knowing into a table of names, roles and locations, added the duplicate mayor fix after Diplomatic Relations and the Oni Mask stock increase; corrected the Gold Bond exchange, which is a removed legacy system
Arcadia is the second city a Pioneer reaches in Soulbound: Online, and the one where the game stops being a desert survival story and starts being an economy. It is a dense techno-dystopian metropolis of neon signage, shuttered storefronts and rentable apartment doors, governed by a figure known only as the Mayor and patrolled by Captain Ricken and the Arcadian Guards. It sits north-west of Virelda along the Arcadia Approach.
Arcadia is not open to a new character. The city gate is a genuine gate, and the guard on it wants persuading.
Clear the entry-tier Eastern Reach dungeon out of Virelda at least once.
Speak to the Virelda Chief to pick up the follow-up quest.
Present the Silver Chalice from your inventory to bribe the guard on the front gate.
There are back doors, but they are one-way. A Recall Disc teleport, a failed dungeon run or a server restart can drop you inside the walls without the questline, and once you leave that way you cannot get back in until you have actually finished it. Doing the quest properly is the only durable route.

Arcadia concentrates services that Virelda either lacks or only offers in a basic form. Most of a mid-game session that is not spent in a dungeon happens here.
Location | What It Is For |
|---|---|
Dr. Fritz's Lab | The permanent upgrade bench for abilities and weapons, in the south-east of the city. It also starts the quest that hands you the hacking tool. |
DeSat Bank | Personal storage and a trading machine that deals in gold, ores and seeds. Gold Bonds are a legacy currency that is no longer earnable, so the bond exchange is history rather than a service you can use. |
The Tired Soul | A bar. It carries quests and regenerates stamina, which makes it a natural stop between gathering runs. |
Yoku Forge | Sells furnishings for your apartment. |
Hector's Workshop | Basic tools and crafting. The Manufacturing Table outside is where a starting pickaxe becomes an iron one. |
BuzzBox and SnackSnipe | Vending machines carrying Recall Discs, health potions, food and cooking ingredients. |
Wefco Mart | A general store on the main strip. |
Teshimi VIP Area | A members-only area tied to apartment ownership. |
Apartment Complex | Rentable city housing, alongside the rentable doors scattered along the streets. |
The city also holds two dungeon entries of its own, both listed at a difficulty label that sits outside the ordinary beacon ladder.
Shop stock at the Yoku Forge is finite per item rather than unlimited, and one line ran dry faster than the rest. An August 2026 patch raised the Arcadia Oni Mask's stock to 100, putting it in line with the other furniture on sale.
Direction | Leads To |
|---|---|
Subway | West of the front gates, and the fast way back out. |
Arcadia Approach | South-east, back towards Virelda. |
Abandoned Area | Through to the Hall of Death, where the Spectra encounter is fought, and onward towards Lunar City. |
Trains also run between Arcadia and Virelda, so once both are unlocked the two hubs are a short trip apart rather than a trek.
Arcadia has the densest named cast in the game so far, and most of them are attached to a building rather than wandering the streets. Several also hand out abilities, quests or the tools you need for the life skills.
Name | Role | Where To Find Them |
|---|---|---|
The Mayor | Governs the city, and the figure Virelda's resistance is organised against | The civic side of the city |
Dr. Fritz | Inventor. His lab carries the permanent upgrade bench for abilities and weapons, and he starts the quest that hands you the hacking tool | Dr. Fritz's Lab, south-east |
Hector | Runs the workshop for basic tools and crafting, and hands over the Ability Configurator once Foundational Error is done | Hector's Workshop |
Tammy | Vendor for starter tools and replacements: pickaxes, gathering gloves, recall discs, and the Ability Configurator itself | Hector's Workshop |
Hazel | Owner of the bar, and the one who explains stamina regeneration early on | The Tired Soul |
Petra | General-store vendor: food, basic materials, and the empty vials and flasks that chemistry and cooking need | Wefco Mart |
Yoshimoto | Sells apartment furniture and crafting stations | Yoku Forge |
Viper | A vendor with an odd stock of cheap weapons, armour and potions | Around the city |
Magistrate Levi | A vendor on the civic side | The civic side of the city |
Executive Lora | Sits on the civic side alongside the Magistrate and the Mayor | The civic side of the city |
Guard Captain Ricken | Commands the Arcadian Guards who patrol the streets and hold the front gate | The gate and the patrol routes |
Guard Simon | One of the named gate guards | The front gate |
Sven | Bodyguard on the door of the members-only area | Teshimi VIP Area |
Major | One of the characters who teaches a ranged ability | Met before Arcadia, and again in the city |
Clyde and Cleo | Turn up across the city's quest lines | Around the city |
Train Conductor | Runs the train between Arcadia and Virelda | The underground station |
Duplicates have been cleaned up too. An extra mayor used to remain in the city after the Diplomatic Relations questline was finished, and an August 2026 patch removed him.
District layouts, vendor stock and quest requirements are being tuned during Early Access, so treat specific prices and unlock steps as current rather than fixed.
