Soulbound: Online is a pixel-art action MMO that fuses a persistent, shared open world with instanced roguelite dungeons. It is developed and published by SpiderWare, a UK indie studio, and launches into Steam Early Access on July 21, 2026 for PC. Its tagline is "Fight Together. Die Together. Loot Forever."
The game splits play into two halves. A shared overworld is where thousands of players farm, gather, trade, and quest side by side, and brutal instanced dungeons are where small groups dive for loot in runs that never play out the same way twice. The result is described by the studio as an MMO and roguelite hybrid with fast, screen-filling "bullet-heaven" combat.

Core Loop
Progression flows between the two halves of the world. In the overworld you grow your character through life skills, crafting and base building, questing, and trading on a player-driven economy. In dungeons you spend that power on roguelite runs, picking up relics that warp your abilities and chasing the gear that makes the next run deadlier.
Characters are classless. You swap your class simply by swapping your gear, so a single character can tank for the party one day and rain ranged damage the next. With more than 100 ability and relic combinations available per run, builds are meant to be experimented with rather than locked in.
Setting
You play a Pioneer who awakens inside a hostile digital universe and is overwhelmed by enigmatic entities called the Anima. A robotic rescuer recovers you and brings you to Virelda, a safe haven that becomes your base of operations. The full premise is covered on the lore and setting page.
Heritage
Soulbound began life as a browser and Discord-native game that passed one million players and won Discord's "Adventure Together" App Pitch in 2024. The Steam release is a rebuilt, standalone version. New players should start with Getting Started and the Early Access and Roadmap page.
The Core Loop
Play settles into a simple rhythm the studio sums up as Home, Craft, Dungeon, Gather, Home. You return to your base to craft gear and consumables, take them into a dungeon run for loot and Yoku, gather more materials in the overworld (which has no roaming enemies), then head home to craft the next upgrade. Each lap makes the next dungeon run reach further.
A Growing Community
Heading into Early Access the game built momentum fast, passing 50,000 Steam wishlists in under four weeks and topping 75,000 by late June 2026, on top of the million-plus players from its browser and Discord days. Free demos ran during Bullet Fest and Steam Next Fest ahead of launch. Launch and post-launch plans are covered on the Early Access and Roadmap page.
