Noted the Autumn Update changes: Pristine armor modifiers give crit damage instead of melee damage, and crafted capes can roll modifiers
Armor in Romestead covers three slots (helmet/hood, chestplate/body, footwear) and is crafted at the Leatherworker, Blacksmith, and Carpenter's Workshop depending on the material. Sets exist for melee, ranged, and caster builds.
Most metal armor sets follow the same Copper, Bronze, Iron progression with three pieces each:
Tier | Helmet | Chest | Boots |
|---|---|---|---|
Civilian | Adventuring Hat | Civilian Tunic | Sandals |
Leather | Leather Hood | Leather Armor | Leather Sandals / Adventuring Boots |
Thick Leather | Thick Leather Hood | Thick Leather Armor | Thick Leather Sandals |
Copper | Copper Helmet | Copper Chestplate | Copper Greaves |
Bronze | Bronze Helmet | Bronze Chestplate | Bronze Greaves |
Legionary (Iron) | Legionary Helmet | Legionary Chestplate | Legionary Greaves |
Three robe sets emphasize caster builds; three armor sets emphasize martial classes. Experimental armor crafting (patch 0.20.1_23) differentiates melee, ranged, and caster requirements.
Set | Pieces | Theme |
|---|---|---|
Camillus | Camillus Headpiece, Camillus Robes, Camillus Sandals | Caster / religious officiant |
Druid | Druid Hood, Druid Robes, Druid Sandals | Caster / nature |
Augur | Augur Laurel, Augur Robes, Augur Sandals | Caster / divination |
Flamines | Flamines Laurel, Flamines Robes, Flamines Sandals | Caster / priesthood |
Velites | Velites Armor, Velites Sandals (chest + boots two-piece) | Light melee infantry |
Scorpio | Scorpio Sandals (footwear-only specialty) | Ranged / scorpio operator |
Boss kills drop unique armor sets that sit above the standard metal tiers:
Set | Pieces | Source |
|---|---|---|
Feathered | Feathered Hood, Feathered Armor, Feathered Boots | Random drop from Guardian of Minerva (Plains) |
Tectonic | Tectonic Helmet, Tectonic Armor, Tectonic Boots | |
Firescale | Firescale Cowl, Firescale Armor, Firescale Boots | Volcanic biome heat-resistant set |
Bearserker | Bearserker Cowl, Bearserker Furs, Bearserker Sandals, Bearserker Fur Cloak | Wilderness berserker theme |
Bonesplint | Bonesplint Cowl, Bonesplint Armor, Bonesplint Boots | Hunter / pelts theme |
Mirage | Mirage Laurels (headpiece) | Desert-themed unique |
Flamines Volcanalis | Volcanic-tier set (can roll modifiers when crafted) | Volcano biome crafting |
Launch-week hotfixes let the Flamines Volcanalis Armour roll modifiers when crafted and fixed the Tectonic set rolling the wrong modifiers, so both volcanic-tier sets now roll their intended modifiers.
Wolf Cowl: wilderness hunter headpiece.
Root Boots: nature-themed footwear.
Wrist Wraps: light caster wraps.
Cloak | Theme |
|---|---|
Adventuring Cloak | Starter cloak. |
Thick Cloak | Upgraded variant. |
Bark-back | Forest-themed. |
Cape of the Fallen | Drop from Fallen enemies. |
Bedouin Cloak | Desert-themed. |
Physician's Cloak | Healing-themed; Pyzifax random drop. |
Bearserker Fur Cloak | Bearserker set piece. |
Cape of Pyzifax Banner | Guaranteed Pyzifax drop. |
Crafted capes can roll modifiers since the Autumn Update (0.26.1, August 31, 2026), a change the patch notes mark as community-requested.
Armor pieces roll permanent modifiers including Bulwark (+10% knockback resistance, -2 armor), Hardened (+1 armor, -2 melee damage), Weak, Anti-Hex, Pristine, and Legendary (+2 armor, +2% to multiple defensive stats). Since the Autumn Update (0.26.1, August 31, 2026) the Pristine armor roll gives crit damage instead of melee damage. See Modifiers.
