Romestead is a co-op action-adventure survival game for 1 to 8 players set in a fallen Roman world where the dead walk at night and the gods have gone silent. Players explore a procedurally generated land dotted with handcrafted dungeons and secrets, gather and physically haul lumber and stone, build and grow settlements, and recruit wandering survivors as artisans to turn camps into working hubs for crafting, farming, and production. Crafting is not the only way to grow stronger: making offerings and sacrifices restores the gods' connection to the world and unlocks their technologies, buffs, and upgrades. Progression is biome-based, so players craft better gear, defeat bosses to unlock the next crafting tier, and push into the next biome, or slow down to farm crops, decorate their settlement, and automate production with friends. Each player can lean into melee, ranged combat, magic, farming, building, or exploration, and the world scales in difficulty with the number of players in it.

Romestead uses a regular inventory alongside a physical system where heavy resources like lumber and rocks are real objects that must be carried, thrown, or hauled.
