Complete rewrite with verified rank progression: 4 ranks (Trainer/Super/Hyper/Master), specific unlock conditions for each, area-quest mapping table, Link Play requirement
Trainer Rank is the main progression system in Pokemon Pokopia. It determines which areas the player can access and tracks overall story advancement. Trainer Rank is raised exclusively by completing Important Requests in each of the game's main areas. There are four ranks in total, each gating access to new regions and content.
Rank | How to Achieve | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|
Trainer | Starting rank | |
Super Trainer (Great) | Complete Yawn Up a Storm in Withered Wasteland (befriend Kyogre) | |
Hyper Trainer (Ultra) | Complete Brighten Things Up (Bleak Beach) and Time to Party! (Rocky Ridges). Befriend Raikou and Volcanion. | |
Master | Complete Rebuild the Huge Building in Sparkling Skylands (encounter Mewtwo at rooftop) | Post-game content, Magnet Rise |
Trainer Rank follows a linear progression through the game's story areas. The player starts in Withered Wasteland and must complete the main Important Request there before unlocking the next areas.
Begin in Withered Wasteland. Raise humidity, help Slowpoke yawn, and befriend Kyogre to reach Super Trainer Rank.
Both Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges unlock simultaneously. Complete both areas' main quests in any order.
After completing both Bleak Beach and Rocky Ridges, reach Hyper Trainer Rank and unlock Sparkling Skylands.
Complete the skyscraper reconstruction in Sparkling Skylands to reach Master Rank and roll credits.
Area | Important Request | Key Objective |
|---|---|---|
Raise humidity to trigger rainfall; befriend Kyogre | ||
Restore electricity; wake up Mosslax with Peakychu's help | ||
Raise mood level; cook curry with Chef Dente; meet Volcanion | ||
Rebuild skyscraper with Tinkmaster; encounter Mewtwo |
Palette Town does not have a Trainer Rank requirement and does not contribute to rank progression. It functions as a free sandbox area with a Pokemon Center to rebuild but no main story challenges. Players can rename it and use it as a creative building space.
The multiplayer Link Play feature becomes available on the Pokemon Center PC once the player reaches Environment Level 2 in any area. This is separate from Trainer Rank but typically coincides with early progression in Withered Wasteland.
