Skiploom (Pokedex #002, Cottonweed Pokemon) is a Grass/Flying-type Pokemon available in Pokemon Pokopia through the More Spores for Hoppip Event (March 10-25, 2026). It is the middle evolution in the Hoppip line, between Hoppip and Jumpluff. Skiploom has the Grow specialty, accelerating plant growth in its vicinity.

To raise Skiploom's comfort level, surround its habitat with items in these tag groups:
Soft stuff (cushions, plush items)
Lots of nature (plants, flowers)
Wind / gentle air currents
Pretty flowers (floral decorations)
Spinning objects (mobiles, fans)
Skiploom is event-exclusive. Available habitats during the More Spores for Hoppip event:
Habitat | Rarity | Required Items |
|---|---|---|
Yellow Carpet | Rare | 4 Dandy Flowers in 2x2 |
Field-Trip Friends | Common | 1 Flower Backpack + 1 Lunch Box + 1 Hoppip Water Bottle |
The Field-Trip Friends habitat is the recommended target for Skiploom because it spawns at Common rarity there. The Yellow Carpet habitat is more versatile (it attracts all three Hoppip-line Pokemon) but Skiploom is Rare in that setup.
Skiploom spawns in any region or Cloud Island when the appropriate event habitat is built. Confirmed locations:
Cloud Islands (note: event itself is restricted to main areas, but spawns in Cloud Islands when host has the habitat)
The Hoppip event runs on the Nintendo Switch 2's internal system clock rather than a live server. Setting your console's date to any day between March 9 and March 24, 2026 will activate the event regardless of the actual calendar date. This means Skiploom is not permanently missable. See the Limited-Time Events article for caveats.
Skiploom's Grow specialty accelerates plant and crop growth in its area. The Grow specialty is shared with several other Pokemon including Bulbasaur, Oddish, Bellsprout, Hoppip, and Jumpluff. Stacking multiple Grow Pokemon in the same area produces compounding speed increases for nearby crops and flowers.
Hoppip (#001) - pre-evolution; Grow specialty
Skiploom (#002) - this Pokemon; Grow specialty
Jumpluff (#003) - post-evolution; Grow + Litter specialties
Prioritize the Field-Trip Friends habitat for Skiploom. It is the only place where Skiploom spawns at Common rarity, making it the most reliable farming target.
Buy the three habitat items (Flower Backpack, Lunch Box, Hoppip Water Bottle) early in the event. Each costs 5 Cotton Spores; total 15 Cotton Spores.
Skiploom functions identically to other Grow Pokemon, so if you already have several Grow specialists, Skiploom adds incremental farming speed but is not essential for gameplay.
Dry-flavored cooked food raises Skiploom's comfort level once it is in your settlement.
