Overview

Paras is a Bug/Grass-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Mushroom Pokemon (Dex #017). It burrows under the ground to gnaw on tree roots, and the mushrooms on its back absorb most of the nutrition. Paras has the Search specialty, which allows it to locate hidden Lost Relics, Music CDs, and Mysterious Slates buried underground.

Habitat

Paras can appear in two different habitats:

Both the Elevated Flower Bed (#012) and Flower Garden (#014) habitats attract Paras as a Common Pokemon. The Elevated Flower Bed requires raised terrain, while the Flower Garden is built at ground level. Both habitats also attract Paras's evolution, Parasect, though at a rarer level.

Location

Paras is found in Withered Wasteland, the starting region. Its habitats are accessible relatively early in the game, making Paras one of the first Search-capable Pokemon you can recruit.

How to Befriend

Build either the Elevated Flower Bed or Flower Garden habitat in the Withered Wasteland. Paras will appear as a Common visitor at either location. Interact with it to receive a befriending request, then complete the request to have Paras join your team. Since Paras is Common at both habitats, it should appear quickly after either habitat is constructed.

Specialty: Search

Paras has the Search specialty. Pokemon with Search can locate hidden Lost Relics, Music CDs, and Mysterious Slates buried underground. Walk around with Paras following you, and it will alert you when it detects a buried item by reacting with a visual cue. Use Rock Smash or dig at the indicated spot to unearth the hidden item.

Preferences

Paras prefers a humid environment. Add wooden decorations, nature items, and items that look like food near its habitat to boost its Comfort Level. Raise humidity in the surrounding area with water features and by watering the ground.

Evolution

Paras evolves into Parasect. Parasect retains the Search specialty but appears at a Rare rarity level in the same habitats where Paras is Common.

• Consider evolving Paras into Parasect for a more powerful Search Pokemon, though you can also find Parasect directly at the same habitats.
