Ice is one of the rarest materials in Pokemon Pokopia. Unlike most materials that can be farmed across multiple regions, Ice is only found in two locations. Its primary use is in the Freezing Chambers building kit for Articuno, which requires 50 Ice blocks.
The most abundant source of Ice is a hidden cave behind a waterfall in Palette Town. To reach it, head to the rocky structure area near the eastern island. Look for a waterfall, go around the right side, find a Glowing Mushroom marking the entrance, and enter the hidden passage. Inside is a large cavern filled with hundreds of Ice blocks and Crystal formations. This is also where the Freezing Chambers building kit blueprint is located, directly above the ice room.
Break the Ice blocks with Rock Smash. Ice blocks respawn daily at 5:00 AM, but you can collect a large supply in a single visit.
The Rock Peak island type (accessed via the Clefairy Doll through Drifloon) contains a smaller supply of Ice deep in the rocky interior. Dig deep into the rock structure to find it. This island also provides Cave Mushrooms, Copper Ore, and Limestone.
Recipe | Ice Required | Other Materials |
|---|---|---|
Freezing Chambers (Articuno) | 50 | Stone x50, Crystal Fragment x10, Pokemetal x10 |
When encountering Suicune on a Dream Island (via the Eevee Doll), the room where Suicune appears contains Ice blocks alongside Cube Lights and other rare blocks. This is a supplementary source, not as abundant as the waterfall cave.
Ice is used in the following key recipes:
Recipe | Ice Required | Other Materials |
|---|---|---|
Freezing Chambers Kit | 50 | 50 Stone, 10 Crystal Fragments, 10 Pokemetal |
Shaved Ice | Varies | Used for Glaceon's Eeveelution Challenge |
Ice can also be used as a decorative building block for Pokemon houses and habitats, contributing to the Cool habitat condition.
The waterfall cave in Palette Town is the best source. Ice blocks respawn daily at 5:00 AM.
Use Rock Smash powered up with Hamburger Steak to break Ice blocks faster.
The Rock Peak Dream Island (Clefairy Doll) provides a small daily supply.
Keep a Storage Pokemon (Swalot) nearby to carry extra Ice back to your base.

The Palette Town waterfall cave is by far the best farming spot. One thorough visit can provide enough Ice for the Articuno building kit.
Use a Pokemon with the Search specialty to help locate the cave entrance if you have trouble finding it.
Ice blocks respawn daily at 5:00 AM. If you need more, return the next day or adjust the Nintendo Switch 2 system clock.
The Freezing Chambers blueprint is located directly above the ice cave, so you can grab both the materials and the blueprint in one trip.
