Market Antiques is a furniture store in the Old Town area of Melino, the launch town of Paralives. It anchors the Old Town plaza beside its next-door neighbor, L'Armoire, with which it shares a wall. The store sells furniture and antiques for the home. See Town Venues for the full venue directory.
The store occupies an old building with a dark color palette: brown stone, brick-colored painted features, and a curved brown roof. It has at least two above-ground floors and one below-ground level. Its two entrances are on different levels, one facing the Old Town plaza and its well, the other on the opposite side. The building is decorated with small white and blue flags, the official civic colors of the town. Whether the upper floors are part of the store, residential, or playable has not yet been revealed.
A Parafolk can buy furniture displayed in the shop. Prices match the Build Mode catalog, with one exception: every day, Market Antiques displays a random object for sale at a discounted price. That daily discount makes the store worth checking regularly for a deal on a piece a household wants, and it gives players an in-world way to furnish a home during Live Mode rather than placing everything from the build catalog. In the launch build, Market Antiques received a bespoke shop track: a waltzy melody chosen to match its antique decor. These per-venue themes help distinguish lots audibly when walking the open world, and the music is moddable; see Soundtrack and Music.
The store sits on the Old Town plaza, with one entrance facing the plaza and its wishing well. It is steps from L'Armoire and a short walk from most Old Town homes. The plaza hosts the Weekend Market, putting the store next to that event when it runs; see Town Events.
